I imagine this study will become the focus of quite a debate in the United States:

Haven't read the "study" but considering this came out of Harvard which recently admitted the Taliban spokesman, and which receives millions of dollars every year from the bin Laden family and other Saudis, I suspect this is more Jew bashing.

...If you are implying that somehow "Jews control the media" and are a subscriber to such an outrageous conspiracy theory shame on you.

Frankly the tone of your comment suggests some underlying suspicion of Jews - if so - i suggest you read you Bible or even listen to the Church

By the way - the kind of people who liked that paper are below:

I think that the paper has merit and I am not a white supremacist.

All bigotry is sin, not just bigotry toward Jews.

    "all bigotry is sin"

i agree - sorry if i've implied that only anti-semites agree with that paper. Israel-palestine is a complex situtation and we must show love for both sides. Coming from a jewish background i guess i have a tendency to underplay Palestine, which is wrong of me.

My main point was that i found Poncho's remark and tone slightly disturbing???

Don't be alarmed. I think Disturbing is his middle name. You'll get used to it.

if you're implying Jews - are by nature - attempting to control the media. and destroy america's moral fibre then....

i suggest you reconsider your views. On j-day we're all held to account for our actions.
i wonder if the 'king of the jews' shares your view about inherent jewish perfidy?

Poncho, I am going to make this a public warning so that everybody is on the same page and understands the rules here. BB Rule #2 requires that we "Use discretion when posting".

Normally, I take your conspiracy theories with a grain of salt, but you cross the line when you attack a race of people in direct violation of God's Word. THIS kind of conspiracy stuff will end now. If you wish to talk about chem-trails, secret-societies, be my guest, but when you cross the line, it will bring consequences.

Let's not see this happen anymore. Do we have a deal? ;)

Notice, this entire thread could turn ugly fast, and if it heads in that direction, it will be shut down without further notice.

Please discuss the issues in a Christian-like manner.

Billionaire Saudi Prince al-Walid bin Talal now has the controlling interest of Fox News (formerly, it was Rupert Murdoch):

An interesting blog about how Fox News has already changed since the Saudi acquisition:

    http://www.rogerlsimon.com/mt-archives/2005/12/fox_news_fair_a.php

As indicated above, Bill Gates owns major portions of Dreamworks and MSNBC.

I will research this more when I have time. And, as I noted in my previous post, Harvard is the recipient of many Arab dollars, to the tune of millions per year. Of course, they are going to be Jew bashing, so the study in the OP is hardly credible.

Frankly, I'm a little sick and tired of Arabs, Mexicans, and Chinese influencing our media, politicians, and our foreign and domestic policies.

Now my response to anyone who counters, "what about Jews?" is for you do get off your high horse and do a Google search on the name Chaim Solomon - the JEW who financed the American Revolution.

If you think that passage justifies anti-semitism your deeply mistaken. The actions of a group of a people 2000 years ago - does not mean that the entire jewish race is morally inferior for ever.

    Colossians III,
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Have you read proverbs - don't you know that children can't be held responsible for the actions of their parents. Its ridiculous to still hate jews for the actions of their parents. i mean should we hate White Britons for the actions of 19th century British Empire and slavery. Obviously not... ditto the Jews.

People are born with free will, there actions are their own and they should be judged accordingly. We are not predisposed to 'evil' just because we come from a different race. Our evil is our own free-will, it has nothing to do which race we come from

I'm deeply saddened that anti-semitism is still alive and kicking for some southern baptists- and so's the King of the Jews i'd imagine.

    ACTS XVII,
    26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

    GAL. III
28 There is neither Greek nor Jew... for all are one...

Here's what I really think since you asked in such an accusatory manner.

I think these passages sum up Jesus' feelings about the ruling elite class' hypocrisy along with their propagandists (scribes). I believe Jesus was giving a word to the wise in these passages for those attending this sermon as well as those of future generations. His word's on this matter wasn't only leveled at the hypocrites of 2,000 years ago.

I think it's ridiculous to accuse a person of hating someone when that person has never said that he hated anyone for any reason at all much less the race another comes from. Unless of course you equate hate with questioning anothers motives, I've noticed alot of the Bush/Clinton coalition supporters favor this tactic.

That would all be fine and dandy if everyone was treated equally on a level playing field but that doesn't happen very often does it? You seem to be claiming that evil is an individual choice on the one hand to which I agree yet on the other you accuse me of hating a whole race because I have questioned the motives and actions of a few individuals. I never accused a whole race of owning and controlling the media no more than I ever accused a whole race of lobbying our government for special favors.

Now I could turn this around and claim that you hate all southern baptists by using the same logic you accuse me of hating a whole race. But I choose instead to use that discretion Phillip spoke of. ;)

We don't know who our owners are because they don't want us to know. I susbcribe to various conspiracy theories. Nothing in the last 300 years has stopped the transfer of assets from the working people to our owners.

The evidence at this time would suggest that the European royalty in general and Prince Charles in particular are our owners or very close to becoming so through globalization, Agenda 21 and sustainable development. Then there is the private central bankers with their fiat currencies and debt based economics, then the international corporations that own the media and lobby governments and put politicians in their pockets as Al Capone could only dream of doing a few decades ago.

Of course the corporate MSM media isn't going to share this knowledge with us as they would lose their biggest advertizers, their owners.

    A few mixed thoughts.

I find anti-Semitism disgusting and am disturbed that poncho didn't take the opportunity to disavow such a label.

On the other side (and I confess to both sides I've not read the study), John Mearsheimer is a long- and well-respected scholar in defense issues. I know of no propensity to anti-Semitism on his part.

It it quite unfair and poor logic to "argue" that just because David Duke praises something it is therefore illegitimate. The Klan endorsed Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was not a racist.
