    Acts 15.19-20.28-29

The Council in Jerusalem decided not to burden Gentiles with circumcision and with other physical rituals of the Law of Moses. The conditions what laid before Gentiles were very simple and ordinary.

    Do not sacrifice to idols.
Do not eat with blood or shade someone's blood.
    Do not commit adultery.

But even these simple commandments are still based on the Law of Moses! It seems like that the Law of Moses covers everything and there is no escape from it as some modern "Christians" think today.

The difference is that the Commandments given to Gentiles are all of them Spiritual Commandments and not physical, because they are all deriving from the soul of a person.

Under Christ Circumcision plays its part also, but not the Physical this time but the Spiritual one (Acts 7.51) (Romans 2.29) (Colossians 2.11).

And not only Physical Circumcision was converted to a Spiritual one under Christ but some other Commandments of the Law too.

Baptism also converted to a Spiritual entity and not anymore washes away the physical contaminations of the body but performed now as a Promise of Good Conscience (Hebrews 10.21-22) (Matthew 3.11) (Mark 1.4.8) (Luke 3.3.16).

Physical Passover also converted from a Physical Ritual to a Spiritual Commandment when Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself as Passover Lamb (John 1.36) instead of physical lamb, and commanded observe Passover in the memory of Him, with clean heart and conscience. (1Corinthians 11.23-32).

Jesus is the Spiritual Rock of the Law of Moses and turned everything from physical into Spiritual without changing not a single Commandment in the Law of Moses (1Corinthians 10.1-4) but revealed only Spiritual side of the Physical Rituals of Moses.

So, not to burden Gentiles with the Law of Moses does not change anything, but the Law of Moses covers all, Physical and Spiritual matters, the Old and the New Testaments but in different ways.

At one time Physical rituals took priority in the worship GOD, but in Christ's time the Spiritual Essence of the Physical Rituals took priority in worship of Most High.

In truth, Gentiles actually were burden by the Law of Moses by the decision of Apostles and entire Council, but they were burden only by its Spiritual Part, which is applies to all true Christians who understood and observe these Spiritual Commandments Spiritually and not Physically.

So, the point is that the decision of the Council does not change or excluded from the Law of Moses anything, but actually only enhanced it, improved, and make it better as it was intended and by Jesus Christ Who first introduced the Spiritual meaning of the Physical rituals.

Observing the Sabbath Day is a very special Commandments which is never changed but remains the same, because its Physical observance falls on the last Seventh Day of the week according to GOD count and choice, but its Spiritual observance relate to consecration and blessing by GOD the Sabbath Day, which include physical Holy Congregation each and every Sabbath that praises GOD for His blessings, justice, righteousness, love, mercy, compassion, and salvation, as long as human race exists on Earth, every single Sabbath of the calendar year.

    Isaiah 66.23
23.” And it shall be from new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the Lord.

There is another Holiday of the Law of Moses that also does not change but remains its Physical and Spiritual substance as it described in the Law of Moses - the Holiday of Tabernacle. (Zechariah 14.16-19) (see also parallel passages in: (Isaiah 60.12) (Jeremiah 12.17).

Physically it symbolizes the Exodus of Israel from Egypt, but Spiritually it became the Exodus of all humanity from the secular and godless evil physical world, into the Spiritual Kingdom of GOD through Spirituality of Jesus Christ, and in the future, it will be performed by all nations of the world on its appropriate day, forever.

Some "Christians" invented for themselves their own sabbath day on Sunday and call it "christian sabbath," and refused to understand that Sunday is not blessed and consecrated day, but only Sabbath the Seventh Day blessed and consecrated by GOD Himself, and here the question, on which of these two day you shall worship the Lord, according to GOD Tradition and Command, or according to hypocrites who changed Sabbath to Sunday?

    You still haven’t understood.

The Jews still practice their Sabbath, but never entered God’s Sabbath.

    Hebrews 4 1-3
“Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did ( the Jews ); but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,”

How do you enter God’s Sabbath?

By believing the good news, that the Jews rejected in disobedience.

“So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’”

And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. 4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” 5 And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”

6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:

“Today, if you hear his voice,
    do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”

The Sabbath rest of God is entered into when you believe the Gospel, and the Jews rejected the Gospel in disobedience and kept their own Sabbath.
They will not enter God’s Sabbath rest.

So keeping the Jewish Sabbath is a rejection of the Gospel, and refusing to enter God’s Sabbath in disobedience. Not good.

“Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their ( the Jews ) example of disobedience.”

There’s consequences for keeping the Jewish Sabbath as a refusal of entering God’s Sabbath.
Do you want to be judged standing in solidarity with the disobedient?

    13 And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, I say, did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;
    14 having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;
15 having despoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:
17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ`s. Coi 2

As @Cathode has pointed out, the sabbath observance was but a shadow of the Sabbath Rest that we have now through belief of the gospel.

"16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:"

16.Therefore, let no one act as your judge in regard to food, or drink, or in respect to a festival, or a new moon, or a Sabbath Day,
17.things which are a mere shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
    KSB

In regard to Meat (Food), Drink, Holiday Festival, or a New Moon, all of them are physical Commandments of the Law of Moses, about which newly converted Jews and Gentiles argued about, to observe them or not.

Paul also mentioned in this group and Sabbath Day, but not because they argued about should they observe Sabbath or not, but they argued what is allowed them to do on the Sabbath without defiling it, and what not allowed.

While Law of Moses precisely specifies what to do and what not to do on the Sabbath Day, this issue spills over mentioned situations in the Law and became much wider in reality of life.

The same issue also debated during OT times and still today among many Jewish groups and Christians who observe Sabbath.

So, Sabbath stays as it is without any changes or alterations.

But verses 17th continues the same direction of thought and call these physical commandments "mere shadow of what is to come."

Means that all these physical rituals and holidays will represent its Spiritual Side then the right time will come, and they already did it when Christ came and explained all of them in their Spiritual Terms, Forms, and Meanings in His speeches and teachings, which is call today as His Gospel.

The second part of the verse 17 explains that the Spiritual Substance of all physical rituals and commandments, all of them belongs to Spiritual Substance of Christ and His Spiritual Kingdom, as the Main Substance of which He and His Kingdom are made of, based upon, lives, and functioning on.

By bending and twisting Holy Scripture many Christians trying to dismiss Sabbath as essential part in worshiping GOD.

Incomplete in their mind, knowledge, and understanding of the Word of GOD, they are fabricating, making up, adding and deducting from the Holy Scripture its essence, its meaning, and its truth.

But this is not comes as surprise, because all of it was done from the very beginning when the Law of GOD and its Gospel was given to Moses.

For many it is very hard to stand in truth of the Holy Scripture, particularly for those who are pretended to be a Christians but in reality, are not.

You enter God’s Sabbath rest when you believe the Gospel as Paul points out. The Jews refused to enter God’s Sabbath by rejecting Jesus and the Gospel.

They do not enter God’s Sabbath, they do not enter the New Covenant.

Their keeping the old covenant Sabbath is their refusal to enter God’s Sabbath, their rejection of Christ and the Gospel.

    Read Hebrews 4 closely.

We keep the Sabbath, we keep God’s Sabbath rest by believing the Gospel. The Jews fell short and refused to enter God’s Sabbath rest, as Hebrews 4 points out.
