I would be interested to hear the conversation of Jesus and Zaccheus.

Or Jesus and Peter and John when he first called them.

    Or what was really said.

I don't see how Jesus who was able to take up the abuse from the religuous leaders, and even the Suffering during and before the Cross, couldn't tolerate a few ignorant sinners bantering, which we have to anyway...

I agree. I think all sin should be tolerated and we should give up this archaic notion of the wrath of God and a place called Hell. Those ideas are just not really in vogue today with the wisdom of the world.

You're right. The love of God is not in vogue today in our post-modern society which seeks a worldly form of "love" that says sin all you want, God won't mind. As a matter of fact, he would probably even join in and promote it. You're right. That is not the love of God to lead others astray into sin.

If sinners can't change from being loved, and are destined to hell, I am doomed as well then. I don't read anyware of those sinners ever repenting of what they were doing, or acting sober in front of Jesus because he claimed to be God or did miracles. However, that's not to say they couldn't, but it would have been much harder if Christ had treated them like the religuous leaders of that day-he might as well have shunned them off. However he was able to take whatever offence-like I said-even up to cruicifixition in order that his Love could bring a conviction in their hearts, not his condemation over them. So it is Christs sacrifice and love that changes sinners, not him instilling fear of suffering and judgement. So it is us who have to make a sacrifice not them. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, like when Christ dealt with the samaratian with the well-there will be times when we can confront sinners with what they are doing-especially when they are desiring to have that truth revealed to them of their sin like she was. Only God however can tell us so when it happens.

Sinners don't change from others accepting and enabling their sin. That is not love. At least it is not the love of God. Anyone who would tell you it is ok to sin and that there are no consequences for your sin is not showing you love...since they know the truth of the matter and still allow you to walk off the cliff thinking it is ok.
