In April of this year, the Obama Administration deliberately – and deceptively -- used a frighteningly kooky website to condemn tens of millions of innocent Americans who have fought for their country, cherish the sanctity of life, or stand up for the 10th Amendment.

There is simply no other way to put it.

In its now-discredited “Report on Rightwing Extremism,” Obama’s Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security warned every police department in the country that veterans, right-to-lifers, and states’ rights advocates were potential terrorists who warranted intense scrutiny. In response to that report, Americans for Limited Government filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding to know how DHS had arrived at such a chilling conclusion.

The response from DHS is stunning.

As it turns out, Janet Napolitano’s DHS did not conduct even the most rudimentary research or investigation. It did no statistical analysis. It did not even bother to interview those it accused and allow them the opportunity to defend themselves.

Instead, in what should send shockwaves throughout the nation, DHS functionaries simply cruised the Internet (in tin-foil hats, no doubt) and relied entirely upon some of the most disreputable sites on the web to stage its attack upon its “rightwing” targets.

Foremost upon the websites DHS relied upon to launch its ruthless, reckless assault was a site called whatdoesitmean.com. In its response to the ALG FOIA request, DHS reported utilizing the site no less than eleven times – far more than any other site – to substantiate its accusations against veterans and other “rightwing extremists.”

And what is the thrust of whatdoesitmean.com – this site the Obama Administration considers a reliable source for intelligence gathering against the American people?

    < snip >

The ALG FOIA response reveals that his Department of Homeland Security violated the trust of the American people in ways never even imagined possible by those whose liberty it has placed in jeopardy. And the President now needs to come clean and tell the American people when he learned about this horrifying attack on personal freedom and why he did not intervene to end the assault.

    We are waiting.

    SOURCE

Can't say as I'm surprised really.

Welcome to questionable or illegal government surveillance. This has been directed at "liberals" since before McCarthy's witch hunts in the 1950's. The Patriot Act provided the government with the tools to circumvent our rights and invade our homes without a search warrant and to hold American citizens accused of being "terrorists" indefinitely without access to a lawyer or even without being formally charged with anything. No trial has to EVER be conducted.

Somehow I didn't see you jumping up and down about your loss of freedom when these things were being enacted. I did. The government doesn't need any proof to do these things. That's where this article is totally off-base.

If we choose to have these laws in force to protect us from the bogeyman they should apply to everyone, both liberals and conservatives.

Somehow you missed out on at least four years of my jumping up and down about it. Others here didn't.

Look dude, I don't care who's in office if they're messin with my country and my freedom I'm going to jump up and down about it. I don't take sides!

From the sounds of it you seem to take comfort knowing that the government considers lefties and righties to be potential terrorist threats to those in control. Equality at any cost eh? I got an idea . . . instead of you being a divider and constantly playing the part of a cheerleader for anything democrat, why not become a uniter and drop all the partisan heroics and just defend your country against the unconstitutional usurpations of both parties?

Then you wouldn't have to work so hard to keep defending indefensible postions. C'mon what do ya say?

I will unite with anyone who is against our loss of our constitutional freedom to protect us against a nebulous and unproven foe. As Ben Franklin said:

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.

When not banned alatide has been obsessed with dumping on President Bush. When banned he has devoted considerable time to developing new monikers.

I educated people about it. What has Obama done to repeal it?

What has he done about Bush's nation building in Iraq?

What has he done about Bush's nation building in Afghanistan?

What has he done to right any of Bush's wrongs?

Making lame excuses and extending them even further doesn't count, btw.

Obama has a time table for withdrawal from Iraq. Bush refused to do that.

According to his foreign policy adviser the conquest and control of Eurasia is paramount to the security of the United States and the Anglo American new economic world order.

It's all right here in black and white if you don't believe me.

    The Grand Chessboard.

What that means in so many words is we ain't leaving Eurasia until Obama's masters have control over all those rich resources. No matter how many timetables he says he has.

Bottom line is it ain't up to Obama to decide.

If you support the government giving back constitutional rights to everyone then I support what you're saying. I'm simply saying that there is no difference in the situation you described which targets potential right wing terrorists than there was in those which targeted potential left wing terrorism.

So you are accusing veterans, right-to-lifers, and states’ rights advocates potential terrorists who warrant intense scrutiny?
