I find it hard to believe that anyone would ever have a spat with granny - let alone her mister!

Just stopping by for a spot of tea...it sure is quiet in here...hmmm~

I've played a few "games" all day today, which is something I hardly ever do! After the rain got into this puter, I had to take a break. Hope there isn't any damage-my brother will skin me alive!

When he & I were little, we'd climb to the top of the barn & jump off; it's a wonder we didn't break any bones! One day we 'decided' the cows needed feeding & threw a *few* bales down to them & I used to lick their saltblock.

Granny playing games! Wonders never cease to occur - but jumping off the barn!

Friday afternoon - I was in my office - heard a knock on the door - usually don't hear them - so I better check the door to see if there's a dent.

Young man wanted to mow the lawn. At first I was tempted to say no - but I reconsidered - and hired him to do the job for me!

Beat mowing it myself - think about that Granny!

It's been over 24 hours since I posted the above - do I need to say something controversial to get people posting here?

    Good morning,

I have been negligent in posting...I confess,,I confess.

This morning, it has been very awkward getting onto the net, so I have an excuse. Here it is past 10 and just getting on.

The posting here is so erratic, perhaps it isn't meant to be.. We'll have to give it some thought.

I posted a thread on devotionals in General Baptists and not one response. I guess that sort of tells me how valuable they are to many. To-day, I start into 1 Corinthians, a clarion tell-tale of the church to-day. I was to start Romans, but Dan did such a masterful job, I skipped it for Corinthians.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

I will certainly be interested in your study of 1 Corinthians.

    God Bless

    Hi Sheila,
I noticed in one posting that you are dealing with Corinthians in your studies. It is a very interesting chapter in the life of the church.

My devotionals look at the book from a personal perspective rather than an exegesis of the book, but I like to think it is still based on the truth of the book and do not ignore its teaching.

To-days devotional is but introductory, but a very valuable lesson to the modern church. This is the thrust of what Paul is saying throughout the two books.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

Thank you for the introduction to 1 Corinthians. Yes, I am dealing with the interpretation of Corinthians 11 with regard to the beliefs and practices of the Lords Supper, both then and today. So your devotionals will be read with interest.

    God Bless you

    Sheila

    Roger,

When I read Corinthians I realise how little society has changed thru' time.

If you vacuum your shag carpet with a John Deere lawnmower, you might be a red neck.

Must keep an eye on granny whilst mowing the turf.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Boy, wouldn't I like to have a John Deere mower! Son'n'law did have a John Deere tractor when he farmed cotton and it was air-conditioned! I haven't seen any of the farmers around here plant cotton this year at all...I think the Boll Weevil people got to 'em.

Seems there should be some pesticide that would kill them "Boll Weevils" - what do ya think Granny?

I see Granny just went over 2000!

Way to Go Granny! -- Pretty impressive for an "Old Gal!"

PS - glad the Methodist Baptism (sprinkling) your computer got - didn't kill it! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Oh yeah, me too! I thank the good Lord for that one! I'm glad it didn't die & if I hadn't died from withdrawals(again), I would've died from my brother skinning me. [IMG]

When I heard the "sizzling", I couldn't imagine what it was...tho't some of those pesky termites were eating away at something; I hear wood falling all the time. [IMG]

First thought that came to mind: Does the wood falling sound happen at the same time someone is scratching their head?

    Cheers,

    Jim

Who was that bloke on the telly who used to say" Surprise! Surprise!...Oh right, it was Gomer Pyle aka Jim Neighbours.

Humour is a key element in life. When all else fails in the pulpit, try humour. If you want an interesting Bible study, trying picking out all the humouress events. You might be amazed.

    Cheers, and keep smiling,

    Jim
