My KJB was not, it was published by Oxford. I will never purchase anything published by Zondervan. </font>
You may never want to buy anything from anybody. Because I am fairly sure that most stores, publishers, etc. have at least some connection to satanist, athiests, anti-christian activists, etc., so anything you buy could possibly go to help support one of these groups.

    I'll leave this alone now because better judgement tells me I could take this too far.
    </font>
Agreed. I saw this "Zondervan" discussion on another MB (you know the one I mean Amity) and I decided not to even bother. If we start playing the "this company owns that company who owns this company who does this..." game, nothing is safe! What about the supposedly occultic symbols on the dollar bill? Do you still accept your paycheck? According to the "Zondervan/Collins/Satanic Bible" theory you shouldn't, you shouldn't even be using American money. We are in the world but not of this world. We have to use worldly things to survive. What you do with those things is much more important than who owns the company that made them.

    Cool! I have a 4x parallel with the KJV (1873), NKJV, NIV and NLT commissioned by CBD (Christian Book Distributors). I would rather have the NASB in it than the NLT but it seems like any parallel you buy with the NIV also has the NLT. It appears Zondervan is pushing the NLT (probably because it stinks). :D

    I have to agree. Admittedly the comment was a bit off topic, it could possibly even be classified as baiting but disagreement supported by evidence is not bashing.

    stevec,

    You'd like the parallel I found. It has the KJV, Amplified, NASB, and NIV. I don't remember who publishes it, however. But I did see it in the catalog from Christian Book Distributors ( http://www.christianbook.com).

    In Christ,

    The intent of the OP was to bash God's Word.

    I don't know you but I have NEVER been accused of such a wretched thing. I know this board is full of testosterone and you guys like to go off on each other and see who's the "manliest" in all your great wisdom, but I will tell you RIGHT NOW that I am a BLOOD BOUGHT BORN AGAIN BIBLE BELIEVING CHRISTIAN and for you to say something like that to me first made my blood boil, and then made me cry.

    The OP did nothing of the sort. You, sir, are mistaken.

    YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT WORTH MY TIME.

    GOOD BYE.

    I would disagree with that. The way I read it the intent of the OP was to demonstrate a translation error in a Catholic Bible. I think she was saying it was intentionally mistranslated in order to support Catholic doctrine. She's probably right.
