The Sword of the Lord

    My children and I just started a study on Revelation. I was amazed how many times just in the first two chapters John refers to the Sword of the Lord, (The Word of God.) Like Rev. 1:16, "And he had in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword..." and Rev 2:12 and 16.

    And in Ephesians 6:17, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

    I have been taught that this means we need to know the Word of God and use it against satan, because it is a very effective weapon against his lies and tricks.

    I am curious how you use your sword and how it has it been effective in your life. I am interested in learning how you have been able to apply the sword of the Lord in your life.

    I think in times of temptation or trials just knowing scriptures that apply to that situtation that I can quote to myself, meditate on. Gaining strength from the word of God to resist satan and his tricks.
    Thats just me, I'm sure there are better answers.
