"The nation’s debt permanently crossed over to $34 trillion on Jan. 4, after briefly crossing the mark on Dec. 29, according to data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. It reached $33 trillion on Sept. 15, 2023, and $32 trillion on June 15, 2023, hitting this accelerated pace. Before that, the $1 trillion move higher from $31 trillion took about eight months."

The Congress has seceded so much of its power to the executive branch that it seems to have almost become a vestigial governmental institution. The Congress figures that if it deals with a controversial issue, such as the national debt and stopping increasing it, that a lot of their constituents will get mad at them and not reelect them. And, there is no doubt, that balancing the $3 trillion yearly deficit in the federal budget within a reasonable timeframe, such as three years, would upset just about every one of their constituents, as it would mean government spending would have to greatly restrained and more tax revenues collected.

But just because the Congress is wildly irresponsible and cowardly is no reason not to discuss the issue, as there will be HUGE ramifications if the Congress continues to be wildly irresponsible and cowardly, and the American people need to know that it would be the Congress who is responsible.

In your belief system, wouldn’t it be God who predestined it to be what it is? I’m just saying. Of course the American people live with the consequences. There is no discipline in the system and our representation is weak at best & flawed at worst.

Meant to write, "The Congress has ceded", not "seceded".

Yes God has predestinated EVERYTHING. Just as God predestinated that I would eat baked skinless salmon for lunch yesterday; and God uses means, the baked salmon was not going to just appear out of nowhere; thus, the means were that I went to the store, bought the salmon, bought the lemon pepper, warmed up the oven, sprinkled the lemon pepper on the salmon, baked the salmon, placed in on a plate, and ate it using a fork.

So, yes, God predestinated that the Congress would be wildly irresponsible and cowardly and create a $34 trillion, and rapidly rising, national debt in the United States government.

God does ALL things for HIS glory. It is impossible for us mere worms to understand how EVERYTHING works out for God's glory. His elect have faith in God and trust Him for all things and in all things.

This is from the writings of Elder Hoyt Simms @ PB church in Atlanta Ga
    WHAT IS MEANT BY PREDESTINATION?

Predestination is that effective exercise of the will of God by which things before determined by Him are brought to pass. God says that at a certain time He is going to do a certain thing. That thing shall be done at that time because God is sovereign, possessing all wisdom and power. Predestination, as presented in Scripture, does not imply that God arranged all things beforehand but it refers solely to the salvation of God's elect. The prefix pre means before. Destination is the end of a journey. Destine means to determine. Predestination means the end of a journey determined beforehand. There is but one destination that was predestinated and that destination is heaven and immortal glory. It is there that all the saints will be conformed to the image of God for this is what God had predestinated. "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Romans 8:29). Paul also writes, "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will" (Ephesians 1:5). We are told why the saints are predestinated. "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will" (Ephesians 1:11).

The Bible teaches the absolute total sovereignty of God. God is not merely some crystal ball reader.

Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: But the LORD directeth his steps.

Daniel 4:35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

That’s correct, he is a puppet master and mankind are the puppets. I’m going to start referring to Him as Poppa Geppetto.

Joshua said to the people of Israel, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
