I was waiting for a few packages.
They did not arrive in time and I already thought they got lost.
I prayed to God to get them through and today I got them. It took so long cause the stupid customs office stopped them to get some money from me, I had to pay a lot of taxes!
Anyway. The dilemma is did God get them through to me or would I not have gotten the packages anyway even without praying?
I mean did God do something or did he not do anything? What shall I do now? What if I thank God and he didn't do anything? This is a real dilemma, isn't it? :(
I don't want to be unthankful! But the thing is that even if I thank God I constantly think that I would have gotten the stuff anyway and God had nothing to do with it. I mean I prayed 2 days ago and at this time the packages were already on their way to me, this means God could not have done anything in this time.

Just be grateful that the Lord got you your packages in His perfect timing.

Jimbo - your consistant questioning of God's workings is starting to get a litttle old :( .

None of us are smarter than God - stop trying to outguess Him.

    Jimbo,

Are you reading your Bible? I would have thought that you would be starting to become familiar with God's Word and have an understanding that as Christians we seek to do His will in our lives that He may be glorified. You make it sound as if you expect to give our Lord a list of requests when you pray. That is not what prayer is for. Prayer is a form of worship. We bring our thanks and praise to God for all that He does in our lives. When we pray we also can take our problems and concerns to Him, that He might show us HIS WAY, which is the right and perfect way. Prayer is also about developing our relationship with our Heavenly Father. As Christians we want to be more like Jesus and it is in our personal reading of the Word, (our quiet time, which should hopefully be daily) that we learn more of Jesus and how He did things and more of the way God wants to use us here on earth.

BTW, which version of the Bible do you use ?

    Blessings

    Sheila

    Jimbo,

I hope you find the following useful:

    Prayer barriers (1)

"YOU DO NOT HAVE, BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ASK" JAMES 4:2 (NIV)

When our prayers are not answered, we want to know what is wrong with God. It is easier to blame Him than look in the mirror and say, ‘Maybe I am the problem.’ For the next few days let us look at some common prayer barriers.

Barrier 1 – prayerlessness. Be honest; how often do you decide to pray about something, add it to your prayer list, say you will pray about it, and almost do? You think about it from time to time, but you hardly pray about it at all. Why is God not answering? Because you have not prayed yet! Some of us live by the motto ‘Why pray when you can worry? Why pray when you can work yourself to death trying to get it? Why pray when you can go without?’ Get this: when we work, we work; when we pray, God works!

Barrier 2 – unconfessed sin. Listen: ‘…your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.’ (Isaiah 59:2 NIV). God expects you to maintain your personal integrity, to show thoughtfulness and love toward others, and to put Him first in your life. Listen: ‘…what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’ (Micah 6:8 NIV). Those are not suggestions – they are requirements! If you do not meet them, do not expect God to answer your prayers; you are wasting your breath unless it is a prayer of confession. First seek His forgiveness, then He will listen when you pour out your heart to Him.

I think you didn't understand what I mean.....

I mean it [offensive word snipped] when you don't know if it was really God who caused something to happen or wether it would have happened anyway even without prayer! This is what I mean!

    @ sheila

I have a bible based on the textus receptus.
My bible has nothing to do with it.
