Welcome to Christianity in modern times. You may as well have replaced "BB" with "church." Same thing going on...

Yeah, it's reflected more on here as people feel more free to share their private thoughts. That doesn't mean those thoughts don't exist when they're not here, many are just not as vocal about them in person.

It's pretty disgusting out there, and if you say anything about it, most will thnk you're being either too liberal or too closed-minded. Can't win!

Just keep standing for what's right and don't give up on people no matter what. Yeah, things are going downhill, but DUH! We're told it will in the Bible. He really meant it.

I guess we should believe it and live accordingly, retaining our belief, telling of Christ, and not accepting the sin people keep trying to bring into our churches and lives.

Tim - try, just try to take it all with a grain of salt. Think of some of the folks here like the youth you work with. You don't have to read everything. You don't have to respond to everything. I don't respond to as much as I used to. It's just not worth it. I'm not going to change minds that aren't looking for answers. (that's the youth part ;) )

I love you, you big guy you

Not strange, mate. Just appreciating what Paul and Peter went through serving the same Lord and preaching the same gospel and yet disagreeing o some points. Eventually we learn.

    Cheers, and bless,

    Jim

I do know the feeling. It is surprising how so many people can have so varied views from reading the same book. I gets very frustrating because you know deep in your heart God loves you and your walk with Him is solid.

I may join you for a break and see you on the back end of time. Or at least stay out of the debate forum. I think we've covered all the subject over and over and over and over etc...

We will miss you Brother and look forward to meeting again. I'll pray for you and ask that you pray for me... :praying:

Well it could be worse. You could have one BB member suggest that a terrorist slit your throat, and another one travel to your blog and post vile curse words.

Uh... Yes, I have had people follow me from here to other sites, and to my blog, and insult me.. and stalk me.. .all because they didn't like me...

Thank God they were banned... Those are the ones that I don't miss a bit...

I know we are not to judge one another's salvation on here, but when a person visit's my blog, and leaves vile all over the comments.. and then gets mad because I don't post their comments... I say they don't know God.

    They can't...

So yeah, I have had some very bad things happen because of my stances here on BB...

Gina, THANK YOU! You speak from God...
And yes, I see it in Christendom as well...

BB is a sample of what the church will be in a couple yrs...

BB is only about 2 yrs ahead of the general populace in the trends in churches... I can say this from experience...

I would never say to your back what I would not say to your face. Most times I find it better to say nothing.

    Cheers,

I feel the same way brother, too many on here want to argue and some of the things they post are just out right wrong, I believe in true doctrine and not what some crackpot wrote in his book, seems like many here would rather read some book and use that for their doctrine than Gods written words. So I too will no longer darken the door step to this site and upon leaving I will shake the dirt from my shoes.

    Tim,
This is the opinion of a layman who does not have the qualities or temperment to be a pastor, as pastor is a special calling from God.

You are one of the most gracious, kind, and mild mannered person I have encountered here. Christ-like traits shine very brightly from inside you. It is my hope that you will be around.

There are others on this board who I will never figure out how they think they have a calling from God based on the harsh quality of every post, their lack of theological common sense, showing no ability to handle everyday situations with people who are either lost or in need of spiritual help.

It is also amazing to watch the anger exchanged on issues that have no effect on salvation, such as end times, KJVO, communion, Calvinsim and other such nonsense.

As I said above, I am not called to be a pastor, and would not be worthy to fill the shoes of one. If I repaired machines the way some pastors on this board post, I would be fired within a week.

I would be proud to have you as pastor of our local church here in Kentucky.

I'm gonna ditto SN here----I do more monitoring now than posting----and I read a lot of your stuff-----and if I didn't pastor my own church--I would recommend that you pastor it for me

I'd read your blog site----and I'd read Bitsy's site too-----except my www.besafeonline.com 'net filter won't let me blog or read blogs---I insist on having a filter for all the "pop up" garbage that the ungodly send down the pipe

But reading you here is good enough-----here's how I read-----some person starts a debate thread----and I look down to see what TT has to say--see if he's gonna post TT wisdom----and 100% of the time I say to myself----"Me and TT share the same thought!!!"

My advise----you can take with a grain of salt---and you can take it or leave it--------don't leave!!! If you leave and go somewhere else---that somewhere else will be the same as here---you can't get around having "weird" people on these kind of sites----when you do challenge a debate subject--if you put your breastplate of righteousness on and if you hold your shield of faith in just the right position---you won't get slashed up quiet so bad---if you know what I mean???

Bro. David---pastor---Hughes Memorial Baptist, Pinson(Birmingham), AL

Well Tim, if you go you will be missed. I took a "leave of absence" once and since them I have seriously cut back on my posting. I generally stay out of theological debates since it is a waste of time- I am right and everyone else is wrong but for some reason I canĀ“t convince them of that!

I did not realize you had a blog. I may have to go check it out!

    Tim,

I agree with just about everyone else. Myself, I'm a Jonny-come-lately to this forum and not a big poster. Even so, I have had to take time off from here. Sometimes it is hard to see the grace.

In my opinion, the KJVO and the Disp/Cov discussions are the ones that really tend to degrade. The "hit and run" posters who make comments "with authority" and the "cut and past" are the ones that I don't care for but I'm guilty of this offense somewhat.

On the other hand, there are some real scholars here (like Logos) and others like yourself Tim who give concise informed answers to questions. I ask myself if anyone based on the discussions here change their minds about some theological point of view? I don't know, but I have become much better informed on some of these issues due to this forum. Not so much as a credit to the actual posts, but due to the follow-up that I have made on behalf of comments posted. For example, I would have never purchased and actually read the KJV 1611 (repro), the 1599 and 1560 Geneva Bible and the 1526 Tyndale NT that I now consult almost daily, and it is because of this forum.

Another thing I have learned from my personal study of church history is that almost from the start of the church, there has been heated debate on points of doctrine. I wish the discourse here were more civil and respectfull and compared too many other b. boards, it is, but I totally understand your position Tim.

    Take care and stay,
    Tom
