Do you leave a tip for the maid during a hotel stay?
We just stayed in a hotel on Thursday night and yes, we left a tip.
I leave them a tract that looks like a $100 bill and a note that says if they just apply themselves they can get a decent paying job. :flower:
If I'm staying multiple nights in a hotel, I leave the do not disturb on each day so that I don't get cleanings during my visit. I don't need someone entering my room and disturbing things. When I leave, I don't leave a tip. We have become tip crazy. Maid is page a wage.
Depends on how bad I trash the room.
Guitar players.... :tongue3:
That idea came from a particular evangelist?
My family is readying to checkout of out hotel room and leave the Wisconsin Dells and we discover that our (then) two year old wet the bed. I'm trying to think what would be an appropriate tip for the maid and I'm thinking $5. I look in my wallet and have a couple of $20 bills and three $1 bills. So, sorry maid at Wilderness Resort, you only got $3.
A Minnesotan visiting Wisconsin Dells? And I thought it was only for that Illinois riff-raff.
I traveled a lot, with BOSE Corp. Stayed in some swanky joints. I stayed at The Whitney in Columbia, S.C. for about 3 weeks, once. I got money given to me in my expense account for gratuities so I did tip. When I stayed at the Radisson in San Diego for three months, and spent that gratuity money on Padres games.
And Indiana riff-raff.
1. You worked for BOSE as in the audio products BOSE? I'm jealous.
2. Swankiest place I ever stayed was the Weston in Chicago. I won a sales contest back in the day when i was selling Fords. Tom Bodett was right. With the lights off that $400 a night room looked just like Motel 6.
3. Padre games? Thank you for your support.
Yeah. before it went to Mexico, I had a pretty decent job.
Those were great commercials.
[/quote]Saw Eddie Sprague hit 2 home runs one night. One to tie it in the bottom of the 9th. One to win it in the 13th.
Tipping maids, is that anything like tipping cows?
Ha Ha! That's what I thought the first time I saw the thread title. Imagine running down the halls of a hotel and knocking over maids.
