I'm wearing my shoes. Do you know how hot the pavement gets under the weltering Jawju sun and if you step off in the yard, you'll sho enuff pick up a sand spur or two.

Almost all the choir ladies kick their shoes off at some point in the service.

Pinoy, you're killin me:laugh:
I loved it... I never knew you had an accent!

BTW, a man came up to me today and apologized for taking his shoes off during my sermon... He had toe surgery this week, and was uncomfortable...I immediately thought of this thread.....
God has a sense of humor!

Thanks again Pinoy, you made my day!

Frankly, gristmill, I detest the legalists and Pharisees, probably more than you ever could and by over a decade. But like some, I'm not sure your 'outrage' here qualifies as anti- legalist.

Oh yeah! Welcome to the Baptist Board. :wavey: Required attire here is a hardhat, earplugs and a full body armor, for your own protection!

There is nothing wrong with going to Church barefoot in and of itself. I think where you are gonna collide with the Bible is your heart's motivation to rebel against authority and stand up for your right to do it even though you know it is gonna offend someone.

Is that what you were going for? Getting looks? Why are you trying to attract as much attention to yourself as you possibly can instead of Glorifying God? I think there is something wrong with your attitude.

Amen! It sounds like he may have had a spoiled childhood or something. He sounds very egocentric to want to have this much attention over shoes and music.

Why doesn't he go outside the police station and make his point known that he hates noise ordinances? Or why doesn't he try to go to Taco Bell or McDonald's w/o shoes or shirt on?

I think the answer is because he has issues with God and churches. Sounds like a spiritual problem....BIG TIME!

I may be wrong, but I think gristmill is just trying to be funny.

    (If so, I don't think it's working.)

I don't think God likes anyone to "try and be funny" (folly) about these types of attitudes.:(

Sounds like we should all go to your house and blast Church music.

Seriously Gristmill, it's not good to go to another man's house and tell him how to accept you. Usually, if one is not accepted he just stops going.

We have a "hit man" for such cases so we don't have to dwell on it too long and disturb the church.

    Brother Bob,
Since when did people start wearing shoes in eastern Kentucky. You know how sophisticated we are in the west end of the state. We have shoes and electricity.

We go after the ones with shoes on and not the ones with no shoes. Shoes are too fancy and too liberal and not the old time Way.

Well Brother Bob, I just have to know, do people there choose to wear shoes, or were they predestined to go bare foot?
