"For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it upon the ground, to cover it with dust;" (Ezekiel 24:7, AV 1611, spelling modernized)

"For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it *NOT* upon the ground, to cover it with dust;" (Ezekiel 24:7, current KJV, emphasis mine)

Things that are different are not the same. "poured it" and "poured it NOT" are about as different as day and night. KJVOS....WHICH IS CORRECT?

(Please read Ezekiel 24 in context)

The correct answer is not, as in a printing error is 'not' a good reason to sin. See 'thou shalt commit adultery'.

    So the AV1611 was imperfect?

The funny thing is, and I am sure that this happens to others as well, I find printing errors in my bible today. However I think that the fact we are able to recognize errors shows that there is such a thing as inerrant. The modern version crowd does not seem to have a hard time spotting what is wrong, but they cannot seem to put together a bible that contains what is right.

So the AV1611 was NOT perfect, it had mistakes, that is what I glean from the answer. (from a NON modern version poster)

So does that mean for 158 years there was no perfect Bible?

C4K, maybe we should reopen the thread where we could not agree on a definition of perfect and try to reach a conclusion there before we try to make an issue out of this printing error. I don't know any KJVO who claims that there were no errors in any one specific printing of the bible. If you got one with no errors, then use it to the fullest brother. Otherwise, I would walk circumspectly and make sure that the serpent doesn't use those errors to his advantage.

This is a diversion James. For years the radical KJVO have claimed that KJV is without error of any kind and that any supposed error was in reality “advanced revelation”.

The radical KJVO? I'm sorry, I seem to have misplaced my membership renewal and I didn't get that newsletter.

The problem here James is that some of our posters have continuously claimed that there is a word for word letter for letter perfect edition of the KJV but none have ever produced it.

    Maybe it is this one?
Psalm 119:89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

James, I was not in fact accusing you of being a "radical" KJVO, just acccusing you of forgetting the fact and thereby diverting the true issue, that for years they have claimed the KJV of being a word-for-word perfect Word of God along with their daily BB invasion of the diet "Things which are different are not the same".

The fact that you gave the correct answer that it is/was a typo is why I reminded you of their foundational beliefs.

That begs the question we are confronted with, no one would argue that the verse you post is in error.

God's Word is settled in heaven, there it is perfect, without error.

Which human version has duplicated that word for word letter for letter, settled edition?

Not if you could provide Bible evidence that God has preserved His Word letter for letter in an English translation as opposed to Spanish, French, or German.

Concerning Ezek. 24:7, David Norton observed:
"1611's error appears to come from an incorrect revision of 1602 or from an incorrect reading of
the revision" (TEXTUAL HISTORY OF THE KJB, p. 290).

The 1602 Bishops' Bible read: "upon a high drie stone hath she powred it, and not upon the ground."

Psalms 119:89 (HCSB = The Holman Christian Standard Bible):

    Lord, Your word is forever;
it is firmly fixed in heaven.

Therefore it is obvious that the HCSB is the
one and only true Bible, the Holy Scriptures,
    the Written Word of God.

Dear Brother James_Newman: God has called
upon me to check every Bible reference that i
read on this board. Would you please help me.
When you post a Bible quotation you have in
front of you. Plese add the version you
are quoting from. I thank you for helping
me to serve God accoding as he has called me.
