Tom Tancredo Eyes White House Run
    By STEVEN K. PAULSON

DENVER -- Tom Tancredo has been called a one-trick pony of a politician, a man out of step with his party, a bigot. The Republican congressman vehemently opposes illegal immigration, and he created an uproar last week when he talked about nuking Muslim holy sites.

No matter, Tancredo is pressing on and even hinting at a long-shot presidential bid in 2008.

An interesting thing about the destruction of Mecca. An Islamist told me that it was impossible to destroy Mecca, as that is where Allah lives. So, I asked what would happen if it were destroyed? We would be without a religion, and allah would be false. But he was emphatic that it was impossible.

If this is true, our politicians would know that and would have a very big stick indeed.

Mecca may be the wrong word but I know it was the holiest of Islam sites.

    That is interesting. Very interesting.

Tom Tancredo would have my vote. But he will never win the GOP nomination because he isn't a "player."

Tancredo knows he can't win the GOP nomination in 2008. If he runs it will be to push the border security issue and to aggravate the GOP establishment - both very worthy goals in my view. [IMG]

Are you saying they worship a parcel of land, so to speak? That seems very odd. Very Very Odd!

I look for a rebel for 2008, given the rest of the candidates will probably be the usual party-line talking-points stooges.

One View, they worship many parcels of land - everywhere you go in the Middle East, Muslims claim "holy sites" in lands they have conquered. Mecca happens to be the chief parcel of land they worship because Mohammed the terrorist lived there.

Too bad. He'd never have a chance to get elected.

    Far too plain spoken.

Harry Trumans and Tom Tancredos are not welcome in politics today.
