Yeah. It's too bad this case was so sensationalized.

Yet crimes against blacks (usually BY blacks) in Obama's Chicago hometown go on and on with no end in sight.

These crimes go relatively unreported by the biased liberal media, and when they do say anything about them, seldom do they ever mention the fact that Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation.

    Go figure.

Off topic and has nothing to do with the story.

Well at least we got a nice long break from important issues like the multiple Obama scandals and the Israelis bombing Russian missile installations in Syria maybe starting WWIII.

Oh I guess that's off topic. Sorry bout that, carry on.

I'll have to pass on that. There's no way I could possibly get that low to the ground.

Two things really jump out at me from the article:

Which is understandable, but why isn't anyone "angered" by the alleged "mistake" made by MSNBC and HLN?

"Mistake" my left foot. That was a deliberate effort to incite anger at Zimmerman. These so-called "MSM" (mainstream media) outlets knew full well what they were doing. They absolutely would not have posted that picture had it been of a dead white kid killed by a black neighborhood watchman. The hypocrisy and arrogance of the MSM are blatantly ignored by those who most vocally support the way the media report the news, to be expected when those supporters are equally if not more so hypocritical and arrogant.

It's what people in the media do these days Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly do the same thing. Sean just does it more often on his tv and radio shows. He knows how to use his show to influence people's perceptions and thoughts about what is/is not true.

I've seen MSNBC do it. I've seen CNN do it. I've seen the nightly news shows do it.

At this point it's a wonder why we trust any of them.

Because there is always a kernal of truth in what they say and because they know the majority of their viewers and listeners suffer from confirmation bias.

Confirmation bias is a common condition that effects people in such a way as to make them seek out information and the opinions of others that tend to confirm their preconceived notions.

This makes it very easy for those in power who wish to keep us divided and therefore powerless to effect any real change in our society. That's why we have gatekeepers on both sides like Hannity and Olberman. Divide and conquer. For more on how this works see my signature line.

The event I pulled out of the article is a deliberate manipulation of emotions and a later "apology" that it was an "accident." They lied. They manipulated on purpose, and it was no "accident." Hannity and O'Reilly, though vilified by liberals, have never been rightfully accused of lying to the public. On the other hand ...

Yes, you have. They are the network that selectively edited George Zimmerman's 9-1-1 call to make him sound like a racist. They edited out the legitimate question from the dispatcher as to what race Martin appeared to be.

Yes, you have. CNN told viewers that semiautomatic weapons are banned by the so-called assault weapons law, knowing full well the law only outlaws fully automatic weapons, and they also, in a separate story, allowed reporter Drew Griffin to commit Texas and federal felonies in "proving" how easy it is to acquire a sniper rifle, when in fact it isn't easy at all and the scenario he set up to make the purchase is virtually impossible to actually carry off. His allegedly "hidden camera" was in plain sight -- proving the buy was staged -- all along.

Yes, you have. CBS claimed the Bush administration "sanitized" the Wu Tang records, making the claim in order to influence the presidential election of 2004. They were caught red-handed in the lie.

In a story about an American diplomat believed to have passed secret documents to a Soviet spy, ABC News broadcast grainy footage of what appeared to be the actual handoff. It was a reenactment, and the diplomat (a Bush appointee, of course) was later found by the FBI to be innocent of any inappropriate behavior.

NBC ran the same deliberately misleading 9-1-1 call that it's sister network, MSNBC, edited to suit their tastes, and also created false drama in the 2012 Olympic gymnastics competition by editing out Russian world champion Ksenia Afanasyeva’s unexpected fall during the floor exercises, which effectively handed a gold medal to Team USA during an early stage of the contest. Removing that fall from the time-delayed version of events that NBC presented to its prime-time television viewers constituted an outright lie.

It is the same thing as a hypothetical third-inning Yankee's rally against Boston being shown as the seventh inning Yankee at-bat when, in fact, Boston had put the game away in the sixth. In other words, dishonest, manipulative and fraudulent.

While liberals have routinely accused Fox News and publications such as The National Review and The Weekly Standard of "deliberately misleading" viewers/readers, there have been no proven allegations, whereas in all the above cases, the networks each admitted their "mistakes."

Sorry, Zaac, but you can't find any such incident in Fox's past. You may not like Fox News, but dishonesty is not an issue with them. In fact, quite the opposite. They tell the truth, and that's what ticks off the liberals more than anything.

thisnumbersdisconnected, Fox News doesn't have to directly deceive. They directly manipulate.

I think Poncho's siggy says it best:

“A false left-right paradigm is a political stratagem that uses people’s natural propensity to belong to a like-minded group to drive public opinion and to change policies and laws to benefit their handler’s interests."

Fox News knows that the desire for enough like minded people to come against liberals will drive its ratings. And thus it's programming stokes the fires that also drive division while profiting for those behind the scenes.

Fox News definitely helps in driving the attitudes of division whereby that false left-right paradigm is created.

    Whatever.

Poncho's siggy is a paranoid reaction to technology that has no real basis in reality.

OK, then find me an actual event in FNC's past that compares to the blatant and outrageous lies told by the liberal media. When you find one, let me now. I don't expect to hear from you soon -- or ever.

Actually my signature is based on the age old divide and conquer tactics used by empire builders for centuries. Just because you can deny history doesn't mean it never happened.

It only proves you have bought into a false reality and will do whatever it takes to protect it even if it means the destruction of your own country and way of life.

They don't have to take to lies. They just tell their version of the truth and all those who think the other side is lying adopts their talking points as their own.

They know this because it's consistently what conservatives have taken to doing.

I was a huge Neal boortz fan when he was on air. But on all things of God, he needed to just hush. But Neal would do Nealz Nuze, a summation of his talking points for the day. Without fail, you would hear other talk show hosts repeating those same points word for word later in the day, and you'd then hear other conservatives quoting the notes wod for word later.

It's the same thing that happens with Fox News. They have convinced the conservatives that they alone have the truth, but don't want to bear any of the responsibility for why their brand of truth continues to serve as a point of division in the country. Likewise for the liberal news outlets.
