We're doing this on October 31 so we set some guidelines for our church people who wish to participate concerning outfits people can wear.

One of the people asked if they could come dressed as a vampire. I said, "No." She said "Well, I would be a good vampire"

I asked her what a good vampire was, she had no answer. My answer was still "No".

If you do anything like that what guidelines for outfits do you have. I am not really looking for a discussion about Halloween, but what would you allow and/or not allow.

We join with another church and do a pumpkin patch party every year, and it's open to the community. The costume rules are no witches or intentionally scary costumes. We haven't had to turn anyone away. The most common costumes are Star Wars and Disney Princess costumes. And that's just the adults. ;)

I probably ought to make clear that the guidelines and standards are for our people who are helping.

That makes a difference. The same rule applies for our vonunteers as for the participants in regards to costumes. No witches or intentionally scary costumes.

When we do fall festivals we have a rule, no ghosts, witches, or anything demonic, scary or gross. That eliminated vampires, the grim reaper, dead zombies, ax murderers, etc.
