You need to read closer Ken. This wasn't about the first amendment. It doesn't appear to say that they shouldn't be able to say it. It does appear that it says it is a dumb and wrong thing to say. Surely you can read better than what you let on here.

This morning you have taken two Senate actions and completely stood them on their head in your misguided attempt to support your misguided positions. This board deserves better. You should consider reinstating your self-imposed exile rather than continue to do this.

It was a dumb and wrong thing for Moveon.org to say.

It was also a dumb and wrong thing for a governmental body, the U.S. Senate, to condemn the members of Moveon.org for exercising their right to free speech as protected by Amendment I of the constitution of these United States.

"U.S. Senate Votes to Condemn 1st Amendment"

Once again, your thread title is misleading. No such vote took place.

Pastor Larry is right. BB deserves better. Your thread titles are sometimes very close to outright lies.

Are you so desperate for attention that you think you have to resort to this type of deception to get your posts read?

If you don't like my commentary(including the thread titles) in this politics forum, carpro, you have the option of ignoring my posts.

Gladly. I believe you should put your commentary where it belongs. In the body of the thread.

I don't consider titles to be "posts", per se.

They should identify the subject. You are lying to attract readers.

The thread title is every bit as much a part of the post as what comes under it.

But a nice attempt at bringing up a non-issue and ignoring the substance of my arguments that apparently you are unable to counter substantively.

Your argument has no substance when it is introduced by a lie.

It is clear that the thread title bears no resemblance to the actions of the Senate. The title is a passion filled misrepresentation made to demonize what the author disagrees with and place it in the worst possible light. Which seems to be a type of behavior that is espoused by Ron Paul whom he supports:

When presidential candidates volley numbers at each other and toward voters, the truth sometimes gets caught in the crossfire.
In recent weeks, Ron Paul overstated the U.S. death toll in Iraq and Afghanistan, ....

....Ron Paul's spokesman Jesse Benton dismissed the critics who said the candidate overstated military casualties. "They want to go ahead and chide him for rounding up the number a little bit," he said. "That's something that seems a little silly."

Ron Paul doesn't seem to be quite the "statesman" he is made out to be.

Carpro, the word is irresistable or irresistible. If you are going to personally bash me at least spell correctly while you are doing so, okay? :)

    Timmy,

Ron Paul was not involved in this vote and I do not appreciate you attempting to hijack this thread. Go start your own.

    Thank you.

It is not a highjack. I am corrolating your irresponsible and untruthful behavior in this thread with the man you so adamantly support. It seems you either support him because "birds of a feather flock together" or you are truly a DOR. But I will be glad to start another thread.

I'm surprised it was close enough for you to recognize it. I trust every thing else was spelled correctly? ;)

You are again simply wrong. The Senate did not condemn them for exercising their right. They condemned what they said.

Consider an analogy. The fact that we have rightly confronted you and misleading titles (and perhaps subtle dishonesty) and have said you should not have said it, does not mean we are attacking your first amendment rights. It means we are disagreeing with how you are using those rights.

These distinctions, Ken, are not subtle. Pick up on them, and sooner rather than later.

With everything in our country and our world that needs to be addressed, our congress spent time making a motion to say "we didn't like what moveon.org said" ???

This is a private board. The 1st amendment does not apply here. You can condemn me all you want. I don't care. You are not the government.
