How often are your church facilities used? Is it used only for "church" activities? Do you allow other Christian groups to use the buildings? What about non-Christian groups?

Because we are a community church, lots of groups use our facilities such as Girl Scouts, various home owners organizations, community action groups, as well as all the church stuff.

Is this assuming that we have our own facilities? All over the world this is not the case for local churches.

    We share "our" facilities with:

    A pub
    A nursery school
    A sports club
    An Irish dance class
    Private parties
    Whatever else books the centre

We use it Sunday morning, Sunday night, and every other Saturday as well as other occasions when we need it and there is space available

At least once weekly for church use (wednesday night meal), maybe a couple of other times a momth, and occasionally for non church groups.

Since we are in a theater, I voted the last one. We are moving to our own building in a few weeks, though.

Ours is pretty much used daily. Many organizations use the place. We want people in the building and to be comfortable in it and with it so they'll come back.

I don't believe it's ever used for a pub though. (that was a joke.)

Currently our church is only used by our church body for normal services.

However, in the past many different groups have used our building. The Boy Scouts used to meet in our fellowship hall. The YMCA had an aerobic class at our church for a few months. The local theater guild has used our building for rehersals at times.

Well, I guess you could after Bible study on Sunday night :) .

We use an upstairs mezzanine level area. It can be interesting when someone books another area for a party ;).

I'm not exactly sure what to put down for this poll.

During the school year, our Christian school uses our facilities Monday - Friday (and occasionally on Sat.).

Also our AWANAs uses our facilities when they meet, which is approximately during the school year as well.

In our church building, during the school year, our Christian school uses the facilities Monday - Friday.

In our ministry building, something is always going on.

    Youth Rallys
Open gym nights on Monday and Friday (public invited)
Basketball and Volleyball games, practice, and tournaments
    Potlucks and banquets
    Baby and bridal showers
    Funeral dinners
Lunchroom for the Christian school (Monday-Friday)
    Annual Christian school convention
    Reformer's Unanimous (twice a week)
    VBS (annual)
S.N.A.C. (pizza) after church-once a month on Sunday night
    Athletic Banquet (school-annual)
    Awards Banquet (school-annual)
    World Missionaries Banquet (annual)
Red, White, and Blue Banquet (annual)
Trunk 'r' Treat (annual fall festival - public invited)

I'm sure there are more. I just can't think of them right now.

I cannot answer this one, because, like a growing number of churches in the UK, we do not have a building of our own, but meet for worship in hired premises (the local community centre).

I put down 4-7 times a week for church and other Christian but the only other group that uses the church other than the church is our homeschool group and I'm going to speak to the pastor about coming under the authority and guidance of the church. But here's the basic run down that I know of:

    Monday: drama in season
Tuesday: Ladies' Bible class, College N Beyond, Recovery Ministries, SafeHaven (support group for the caregivers of special needs people)
Wednesday: KidStuf (kids' program), Long Island School of Christian Ministry (classes for adults), GriefShare, Divorce Care (these two alternate), Jr. High Youth Group
    Thursday: Seniors lunch/Bible study
Friday: Sr. High youth group, tambourine dance worship team practice
    Saturday: conferences, mens' breakfasts
Sunday: church and deaf church, Sunday School

There are a ton more things but these are the pretty regular ministries. :)

Right now it's mostly just Church services and activities.
In the past the Red Cross has used a building for a blood drive.
A group that holds classes for prospective adoptive parents has used the fellowship hall for those classes.
There may have been others that used facilities before we got here.
There used to be a School here, too.

Currently we only have Sun AM and Thar pm meetings. We are very small, as we grow, I trust we will have additional activities.

I think we have at least two non Christian groups that use our building during weekday nights. There's an ESL (english as a second language) group, MOPS (mothers of preschooers), and ALANON. Of course we rent space in the public school next door, and they use our parking lot too.

Having a distinct building on a major thoroughfare, our building is probably used 24-7 as a landmark.

    Is that what you mean?

Ours and several other Baptist churches in this town are election polling places.
