What do you think about the VA employee who took the hard-drive home with all of the active duty soldiers names, ssn's and dobs and it got stolen?

I think they ought to renew the firing-squad.

We know better than bringing confidential or even just restricted documents home on a drive. I bring a drive home to do work, but it NEVER contains anything that even remotely would harm the Army or any other person or agency. Those items are to be left at work where security measures prevent them from being stolen.

Do any of you think it was just coincidental it was stolen or a set-up?

    Phillip,

I've asked for my birth certificate to be cancelled and issue me a new on.

I have asked some questions on this and have been told to keep and eye on my personal info. I don't know what else to do I can't cancel my name, DOB or SSN it's just another frustration.

I don't think the problem is for right now I am more concerned what happens in a few months when the smoke has blown over.

It roughly translates to..."there's no cure for stupid".

    But you probably knew that.

Joking about the firing squad or the info being stolen?

There was also info on thousands of veterans on the stolen drive . . .

There was no reason to have that much information in one place. If they were working on the database, it would have been done on an internal server.

There's something more to this story that isn't being told.
