Vols lose 82-81 at Vandy on a controversial tip in after a controversial 5-second no-call on an inbound after Duke Crews put the Vols up with a dunk with 4.7 seconds to go. Vols shot 6-15 at the FT line. AARGH! Tough loss. Ohio State comes up this weekend at Columbus.

I don't recall your coach but he has turned that program around.

The Vols coach is Bruce Pearl, who brought the Vols back after the program slid a bit under Buzz Peterson. Buzz's predecessor, Jerry Green, had some success. The program floundered after the success under Ray Mears and Don Devoe. Wade Houston (Allan's father) and Kevin O'Neill were hired to restore the glory days but just couldn't. Green was a winner but was not liked by fans or boosters and the program had academic and disciplinary issues. Buzz was very well liked but could not win. Pearl is a winner and is loved in the community.

Ohio State has more talent and UT's lack of post players could hurt, but Lofton is an equalizer and UT's press will help. It should be an exciting game.
