    If so, then Jesus was way ahead of His time.

    If so, there was a guy who died next to Jesus who missed out big-time! he had 3 4 wounds that didn't get healed!

    Yes, but it comes when we receive our resurrected or transformed incorruptible bodies. Everyone healed/resurrected during the time of Christ and the Apostles died eventually.

    Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
    23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

    Briefly, when one speaks of healing in the atonement, he means that Jesus died on the cross for sickness as well as sin; and, just as one is spiritually healed by faith in Jesus Christ, one may obtain physical healing through faith in the Lord Jesus.
    Advocates cite a couple of scripture passages for support;
    One is Isaiah 53:4
    The other is I Peter 2:24
    Now, let's look at this verse in Matthew 8, where Matthew, led by the Spirit, translates Isaiah 53:4 to mean sickness or infirmity:
    I can hear somebody said, "see, there it is. Jesus bore our sicknesses in fulfilling Isaiah 53:4."

    Here's the problem: Matthew said that Jesus fulfilled Isaiah 53:4 in Capernaum (8:5), in the evening. Not by his death; not on the cross; but in his life;

    Further, both NT passages use the term "by his stripes we are healed." Now, I believe this refers to the entire crucifixion event, including his death, which is the basis for the atonement for sin. But even if it doesn't, Jesus was whipped and flayed his his life, not in his death. And, he was not on the cross when it happened.

    And, Peter clearly says he bore our sins on the tree. And, the wages of sin is still death.

    At any rate, one cannot claim healing in the atonement, when Matthew clearly says took sickness and infirmity on his in his life, not his death.

    I believe the teaching is from this

    Matt 9 "And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

    2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

    3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

    4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

    5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

    6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

    7 And he arose, and departed to his house.

    8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men."

    jesus could do that, as he was also able to freely forgive sinners!

    Don't think any of us qualified to do right now!

    You just exposed their false viewpoints, but the problem is that they just claim a further "revelation" from the Spirit to OK faulty theology here!

    Yeah, but I just had a revelation that my view is correct and theirs is wrong.

    We tell people that sin is forgiven, and heal their bodies of all sickness. It is one and the same. Jesus in me.

    Sorry, nothing in there says that physical healing is in the atonement. It simply shows that Christ can do both: forgive sins and heal bodies. Sin is of the heart and illness is of the body--two different things entirely.

    One danger of the Charismatic movement's emphasis on healing of the body is that if puts the emphasis on the physical instead of the spiritual. The soul and spirit are far more important than the body.

    Do you remember to pray to God, and ask for him to divinely heal them "IF IT BE HIS WILL?

    Sickening to watch heretics like a kenneth Copeland going overseas and preaching healing/delieverance/health and wealth to starving and lost people, who need hope and forgiveness and eternal life instead!
