I watched Sean Hannity's interview last night. My conclusion is this:

Zimmerman was doing his duty as a watchman. Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, physically and verbally threatened to kill him. Zimmerman defended himself and Trayvon paid for his actions with his life. Sad loss of life, but when you attack someone, you'd better be ready for the consequence.

Now yahoo news has ignored statements and focused the entire interview on one statement: that it was God's plan for Zimmerman to kill Trayvon. That's the twist you get when you read the article. Zimmerman did mention God's plan, but in the context of how he would do things differently.

The closing statement in the yahoo piece was from Trayvon's mother:

"He also said that he doesn't regret anything that he did that night," Fulton said. "I don't think God would have him, in his plan, to murder an innocent child."

An "innocent child" doesn't go around attacking and beating the crap out of people. And, this is not a murder. So she's wrong on both. And thirdly, part of God's plan is reaping and sowing. So, she's completely wrong.

First let me say, while I don't believe George Zimmerman murdered that boy, I do believe what he did was completely wrong. He did not obey the rules of the neighborhood watch. He was carrying a gun. Wrong. He got out of his car when ordered not to. Wrong. Zimmerman fled from police when he thought he'd be arrested. Wrong. He hid money and lied about the number of passports he had in his possession. Wrong.

If he had followed orders Trayvon Martin would still be alive today and none of this circus would be happening. When someone attempts to take the law into their own hands tragedies happen. This entire fiasco is a tragedy.

I watched it too and concluded once again that Zimmerman appears to be a liar. "You're going to die tonight". Who says that? Who needs to say that when you're on top beating the other guy?

And watchmen do just that: they WATCH.

Trayvon attacked Zimmerman because in accordance with the "Stand Your Ground " law, he had every right to stand his ground if he felt he was being threatened by Zimmerman. The phone call to 911 and Trayvon's phone call to his girlfriend testify that he had reason to fear and stand his ground.

Zimmerman's problem is he pursued Trayvon. You can't be the pursuer and claim Stand Your Ground.

It's stupid for him to be in the news PERIOD. And when you've got idiots for lawyers who let you make national interviews while a case is being investigated, this is what happens. The statement should not have been made. But it was and it reflects poorly upon Zimmerman in context or not.

(SMH) And THIS is more damaging, I think, than anything else. A child was murdered and he doesn't regret anything that he did that night. He was told to not pursue but he chose to pursue anyhow and a child died. But he doesn't regret anything. Sickening.

You're reading too much into what the news has reported as this child's background. Dealing with the facts at hand and the pursuit, the innocent child was within his legal bounds to whup Zimmerman's behind based upon the same Stand Your Ground Defense that Zimmerman has tried to use.

Exactly. A fiasco that was stoked by Zimmerman. The man, too, has shown himself to be a consistent liar. He's got the wife lying for him. It's to the point where it should be difficult to trust anything he says.

Still wondering why he's making national interviews about an open case (smh)

Makes me wonder where y'all live that your WATCHMEN carry guns and get out and pursue folks.

He's going to jail for a long time as he should. And that's if someone doesn't do something to him first. He could be off somewhere laying low, but he has the audacity to do a national show and pour gasoline on a dying fire.

Dumbest lawyers ever if he has them.

Everyone's aware the innocent child was 17 years old and 6'3, right?

That said--Zimmerman did a lot of things wrong that night.

Would there be the same outcry had Martin continued slamming Zimmerman's head onto the pavement and killed him? Of course not.

Responding to it is like sticking your finger in a light socket. It serves no good purpose and only cause discomfort.

How are you gonna ask the question and answer it too?

Unfortunately we will never have the answer to that as that is not what happened.

I still don't understand why a lot of folks question Trayvon's right to "Stand His Ground" but seem to be quick to say that Zimmerman had a right to "stand his ground".

Likewise I don't think there would have been an outcry because if cops had shown up and a Black man was standing over a body with a gun in his hand, we'd probably have two dead bodies instead of one. That's just how things are unfortunately.

"Standing your ground" is not attacking someone who you think "has a problem." If anything, Zimmerman stood his ground after this innocent child broke his nose and beat his head on the pavement.

911 operator: Are you following him?

    Zimmerman: Yes.

However, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Zimmerman does appear to lie a lot and very well could have meant "no" when he said yes. After all, women have been accused of this for centuries.
