    1. yes, it's commanded

    2. Sanctification is the process of God working in our lives separating us from the world: being in the world but not of the world.

    3. Not as holy as I know God wants me to be

    4. One who is dedicated to study and prayer and doesn't participate in other activities more than study and prayer. BB?

    Getting closer to GOd..

Abiding by lists does not make one holy.. Neither do "dos' and "don'ts"

Building a relationship with God takes care of holiness.

I thought it was Jesus' holiness that intervenes on our behalf.....so it is really Jesus' holiness that allows us to see God.

We can't attain that sort of holiness on our own, nor even with a little boost here and there from Jesus. Thats why the lists don't make one holy, because Jesus already did the holy life and it is His righteousness that is judged in the place of the saved person's.

    Is that too rambling?

Agrees with bapmom, we are nto holy on our own, we are covered with Jesus holiness and righteousness, if we're depending on a list, we are depending on us being able to do what only Jesus can do for us.

I agree with Donna; "we are covered with Jesus holiness and righteousness" this has to be the amswer. And where we get our holiness because Scripture says that Jesus only is holy.(Revelation 15:4)

    This is holiness children:

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

It is true that by Christ's death we are declared righteous before God. But yet we must walk in holiness and bear fruits of the spirit. A man must examine himself routinely to even see if they are in the faith or just going through the motions.

We must show, kindness, gentleness, love, humbleness, speech that is pure and not filthy. We should always be mindful to pray and study God's word, so as to be a approved a good workman unto God. We must not show forth strife towards others or malice. All these are qualities of holiness, which unless shown our Christian character is lacking.
