Many people use the old Strong's, unaware of the 100s of errors. Get the new Stronger Strong's. It is much better.

And, please, why lie about the Baptist Board? You know very well that you are lying when you say the KJV and references to it are forbidden. Is lying an acceptable part of your faith?
Lying is one of the very worst sins I can think of. Jesus said He is "the Truth." To have no regard for the Truth is to have no regard for the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Thy word" is the canon of scripture, and I don't have to identify it, the churches, being led by the Holy Spirit, did that over 1,900 years ago.

You really are a nut case, aren't you!
Ah hah! That may be the problem. You claim you chose the Lord, but the Lord says, in John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,"
So you believe that anyone who corrects your errors is an "open pit of deceit and hate." That sounds like you are a megalomaniac or something! Not to mention it violates God's word in Proverbs 15:10 "Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die."
I know. Sad, but true. If you have no regard for the Lord and His word, we have no common ground for discussion.
I noticed that. My world view is God centered and your's is self centered. My world view accepts the scripture as the final authority and your's seems to accept only your own imaginations.
I do, every day. I stand with the Lord Jesus Christ, and Him alone. I have been standing with Him since I was a child. Through some of the most terrible times you can imagine, I have stood by Him and He by me. He has never left me, nor forsaken me. Through 9 major surgeries, the loss of my left leg, years of rehabilitation, and the constant refitting of one prosthesis after another. The mean spirited teasing and name calling by my peers as I was growing up, but Jesus was always there to comfort and guide me. And today is no different. You may attack and slander all you want, but Jesus is still right here by my side, still comforting and guiding me. And right now He has led me to type these words, I forgive you for your evil words, and pray that God will open your heart, mind, and soul to His love and His leading.
Too late! I already replied!
I have a nice day every day, in spite of the Pharisees and their constant hate mongering.
My sins were paid for at the cross of Christ, and I no longer fear God's angry judgment. He already judged Christ for all my sins, and one day I will stand before Him and give Him all the glory, and praise, and worship He so truly deserves. I hope and pray the same for you.

Spelling and grammar errors I could chalk up to the writer being deaf (possible) or not well-educated, possible a youth.

But the replies are such that I would now say "TROLL ALERT".

Ken,

"My goal in this question is to find out what perception you hold and the foundation of that perception."

As you might guess the version thing has gone round and round here on the board - so new members with certain beliefs may be met with some fire! Not that that's always the Christ-like way but...

Regarding truth, MW defines it as the "body of real things". We may make observations using our innate sensibilities as well as information we can perceive - we use these faculties in our judgment of bible versions!

I would posit that truth DOES exist exterior to and independent of our preceptions and opinions.

Since God is the author of truth we find truth in His word. What is His word? What is inspired? I posit that God is able - and as such we have what He wants us to have - and not something second rate.

That means our "bible" is sufficient. What is our bible? Were only the original autographs inspired? This would seem a little odd since we do not and never will have them. In addition the manuscriprs all have some differences, even within individual text traditions. I think that what is inspired is the truth that the Holy Spirit instills in the hearts of those who believe. Can any limited human languages completely hold the TRUTH of God's revelation? I say no - especially since there are so many different languages with different syntactical systems. As such I think that several "versions" of the bible can be God's word.

Thank you Charles Meadows that is a great view well stated. I think understand your stated position and think you are brave and true in what you seek. Not that I am the one that can judge you in any way we are all subject to the call of God to good or bad. But I have read a brave post of a human that has touched the heart of God. I may not agree with you yet but I am sure as I read this you seek God and the Truth that the Father has to offer in the best of our human understanding. Pray for me, I will pray for thee. May the Lord God keep you and bless your path in His day-by-day revelation you are a pure glass of water. God peace abide in you, God Spirit of Charity guide you and His Holy Word light your way. Ken4JC, I have not seen your apology for the post above were you were vicious, hateful, and vile toward a brother in Christ. Are you going to make it right or not?

They don't have an icon that is shaking its head with absolute ..... we'll, let's put it this way, I give up. You win. [IMG]

Hey, I got my Stronger Strong's today. It is NICE. I didn't expect such a well printed and bound book to cost so little. I highly suggest that if anybody wants it, they get it now while it is so inexpensive. It arrived just minutes ago, so I am just starting the introduction. So far, I'm impressed.

Great! I love it! It is several orders of magnitude better than any other concordance/lexicon I have ever used.

I have to admit I am tempted to go through it and list all the "NIH" and "NIG" references and ask Askjo for the Hebrew or Greek word the KJV is translating, but that would be just too cruel! :D :D :D

Who is using LSD? I have insulted no brother in Christ according to the active custom of this board. I asked a question and got slapped by people who did not read my question or care to have fellowship and continue to use this thread as a point of attack. I have given up to your total control of the topic. As strange as it may seem good did come from this in that I know that there are others who have not bowed to strange gods. I know that you are having fun kicking on me, enjoy. For it is not in my hand to correct this problem, I turn to a higher court of Prayer to the Father. I was foolish to engage any of you at your level Pr 3:31,32, I apologize for that and will try to be more careful in the future. :D

Ken4JC: I asked a question and got slapped by people who did not read my question or care to have fellowship and continue to use this thread as a point of attack.

You asked, "What is truth?" and I and several others answered. Then, when my answer wasn't what you wanted to "hear", you said I was off-topic. And YOU made some KJV/KJVO issues part of the topic by mentioning that you believe pro-KJVO discussions aren't allowed, a totally-erroneous belief. What ISN'T allowed is questioning a mamber's FAITH IN GOD, nor ad-hominem attacks against another member, nor calling a BV a "perversion" or the like. Just read the rules posted at the top of the forum and point out where you've been called down for doing something NOT forbidden in those rules. You KNOW you came into this forum swinging an ad-hominem mace at us who don't believe the KJVO myth, and seeing as how this is a DEBATE board, you should've known everyone wouldn't automatically agree with your view. True, most of the messengers here are anti-KJVOism, but we certainly do NOT stifle the competition by the Goebbels method of eliminating them, as is done on most pro-KJVO boards when someone corners the KJVOs.

Now, if you wish to discuss "what is truth", then fire away, but don't bellyache about receiving answers that differ with YOUR views. This is America, baby, and we still each have the freedom to express our views, despite the machinations of the ACLU.

Dear Brother Ken,

Many here at the BB are shell-shock.

We have had many hit-and-runs, drive-bys and tantrums from new-comers (who consequently leave).

Their modus operandi is to ask a leading question or simply drop a bomb on us (although that hasn't happened in a while).

We had no way of knowing your true motives, after all The heart is deceitful above all thing, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Certainly not us mortals at the BB.

As for myself I did not answer your inquiry because of these factors plus the restriction of using the KJV, but it is/was an interesting question.

I have posted on the BB for about 3 years (3600+ posts) and have never been criticised by anyone for using the KJV which I have used almost exclusively here at the BB.

Personally, I look to the TR/Masoretic text underlying the KJV for God's truth (all truth is God's truth).

Welcome aboard and please stick around.

You, sir, are a liar. Here is what you said concerning me and my faith in Christ:
Those verses refer to oppressors and the wicked upon whose houses the LORD places His curse. You have been proven to be a liar and a fraud.

Ken,

I have no problem with you, or your views (other than they are wrong...).

If you want to debate, let's debate. But to come in here trying to make your own rules, all the while making out that you are a poor martyr on an "anti-KJV" board is absurd.

Many here are "anti-KJVOnly". I have yet to find any here on the Board who is against the KJV itself.

Grow up, wise up, and we will all grow together.

In Christ,
Trotter

I think I will stick around. I will avoid the version topic you see by your definition I am the worst of the worst in the KJVO. I was trying to get to a version topic that was not based on KJV-v-MV good or bad as I think that it is pointless controversy to even try to address this topic. We could from both sides fill many pages of very high level education and books and the best we would have is strong fingers and hard hearts, I have read and listened to hours of monologues only proving the point that this topic has no real base in logical real world proof. At the end of the day it is a heart problem not a head problem. For me I have the Word of God, I have a relation with the Holy Ghost to confirm and recall the Word of God and direct me to the Fathers will when that witch is perfect has come the KJV will not be needed any more.

There is not a single shred of academically unequivocal evidence to support KJVO from any credible source.
So do we, the Lord Jesus Christ. We also have the word of God, the bible.
<sigh> We also have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit, and He also leads and guides us into all truth. He also illuminated us to the extent we know that 1 Corinthians 13 is not referring to a witch, but to the completion of the canon of scripture, which occurred when John penned the "Amen" to the book of the Revelation. And, even though the perfect canon has come, the KJV, along with other versions, is still very much needed.
