Thank you Jim and Diane. Diane, I bookmarked that site, and will definitly use it the next time he gets this garbage. I didn't know there was anything I could do about it.

The crazy thing is that my son's e-mail is the only one that gets this junk sent to it. The only reason I opened an e-mail account for him was so his grandmother can send him e-cards. He is the only one who recieves e-cards. Could they have gotten his addy that way? I've changed his addy twice, but it hasn't helped. Again, thank you very much!

    Love in Christ,
    Larry

I have learned from the board that there are some very intellegent people on here, who have always been so gracious, trying to help others learn more of the Lords Word. And they do it very humble, and in such a loving way.

I have met some people on the board who have just found a spot in my heart, and I am just so glad they are there. I enjoy their post, their warmth and their blooming friendship with me.

I have learned that there are others who are just like me, who hurt and cry, laugh and sigh, and it is a wonderful fellowship.

I have seen legalism in action, selfishness and self, and mean and evil; but in most all, what I have seen, is such a warm family of people.

    God Bless
    Sherrie

Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye.
Cheerio - here I go - on my way.
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye.
Not a tear - but a cheer - make it gay.
Give me a smile I can keep for a while
In my heart while I'm away.
Till we meet once again - you and I
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye.

A war song we sung quite often during the war years in London. I guess luck fit into that one. At least no one complained. We were too busy wishing the lads God's speed as the went to war......and many never returned.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Growing up and going to church in the south with a "Southern Baptist" mentallity, I have been naive to the differences in the many Baptist groups. Not bad, just different. I am still learning everyday.

I get no spam, porn or otherwise, because I subscribe to a filtered Christian internet service, Integrity Online.

Hey John, I'll switch you spam mail because they obviously got us mixed up!

I've learned a number of things, from being exposed to more personalities in one day than a lifetime to how to cook to what doctrine means what and let's not forget the fine art of not using the words you want to to get your point across but still getting your point across as clearly as if you've said them, but without getting banned. [IMG]

I don't think I've really changed in my doctrine due to anything on here. I don't feel comfortable in debate on this board because people tend to think you believe what you question, and the easiest way for me to straighten out what I do and don't believe is to take the opposite side of what I do believe and try to defend it. Plus women are not answered as seriously or as in depth as men are. So...I prefer to post anon, and since having more than one name isn't allowed on here I save it for other places.

I also learned the Webmaster isn't the ogre I thought he was at one point in time, quite the opposite. (actually two times) [IMG]

Hmph! I'm tempted to write back to those emails I get to increase the size of something I do not own! It's really a hoot sometimes to read that stuff!

Learned that the "Baptist tree" is very wide and lots of odd birds roost there.

Learned that we are all "students" and can learn from each other, as iron sharpens iron.

Learned that there are a lot of "seekers" out there who are truly searching for meaning.

Learned not to despise the day of little things, for that WAS the BB just 3 years ago.

Learned that there are a lot of people who will tolerate and show kindness (or sympathy) to a know-it-all like yours truly.

Initially, I came here because my understanding
had changed from Arminianism to Calvinism, and
I hoped to gain understanding from others in the
Calvinism/Arminianism area here. All I learned
there was to stay out of the Calvinism/
Arminianism area here, but I like the people on BB
    anyway. I stayed. 8oD

DR. Bob, Did you say roost or roast? :D
    Just kidding.
Romone16, I did have spybot and loved it, but it started to act up. I removed it, when I went back to reload it, all the mirrors were in foreign languages, couldn't understand it well enough to figure out which button to use.
    ADaware is good too.
Diane, spam get to you thru the sponsors of the freewebsites and programs that you have. I only get smut in my military email address, and I know I've never been on anything (even by accident) that should cause that. Spybot does detect everything, even stuff that's not harmful (but still spying). Try adaware. CNET and ZDNET both have freeware and shareware.

I've only been in BB for a short while. I've learned there is much need in the study of God's word concerning a few issues particularly. (I won't mention any specific ones, I might get something started! [IMG] [IMG] )

Also concerning porno e-mails, I've changed my ISP and STAY OUT of the ICQ and other chat rooms, that's where those perverts get your e-mail, even without you ever posting it! Excuse me for this, but AOL Chat is the worst. I never gave anyone my e-mail, but after visiting it, suddenly I started receiving all the pornos.

I sure would like to have that recipe for "The best ribs", Diane, or whoever gave it to you. Send it to me via PM if you would, thanks, and thank you BB!

I have learned to become more Berean in my study of the Scriptures, as well as Baptist issues. In doing so, I have learned to think more for myself instead of blindly believing what others have to say.

Brother Ricky, I have NEVER been in a chat room! The only other boards I frequent are two boards for Christian mothers. I'm the administrator of one and we have some super blocks. If anyone even appears to be rude they are first blocked from posting and when given a second chance, if they are rude they are banned by ISP number. Only myself and the owners can see the ISP's. The other board is a private, invitation only Christian women's board that is mostly pastor's wives and missionary wives. Other than that, I go to home school and news sites.

This all started right after we sued an employer for back pay (still due from last August). I cannot emphasize how awful this porn is. It's specialized and illegal things.... that's why I feel sure someone has purposely done this.

I sure will send you the rib recipe. Katie... Bond007 sent it to me and Jim LOVES them!

Diane, If you have an email program, or gator (fills in repetitive info for you), ever went to a discount or coupon site, then you are exposed. You don't have to visit a porn site or even chat, I never have either.
Every site you visit leaves cookies (which is like having caller id - they got your number), these do not have to be bad sites. If you read the use agreements, it says you agree for your info to given to any partner or affiliate. These are the ones that get you.
I constantly got junk, and some of it acted like I have subscribed or asked for the info. I don't get much now, because I delete my cookies every day. Ashampoo has a uninstall program (free), it does alot of things, but one of them is deleting cookies and an internet trail. Look into this.
Or you can delete them yourself by right clicking on your internet icon. Go into properties. It will have a block that says delete cookies. Use it, then you will see a button that says delete files, click it, it will have a little box that you need to check (off-line temp), click ok.
You will never hurt or accidentally delete something wrong, if you do it this way.
Print this and follow it, and you will be smutt free in a short time.

HI Christine, My computer came with a cookie washer and my husband deleted it because he got mad that it took so long at each start up. When I went to reload it, they wanted $65.

I do delete all my temp files (*tmp) and internet temp files and clean my history each night. I don't delete the cookies because of all the sign in's on home school sites, etc. You just made me think! I'm the moderator of our home school group and it's a Yahoo account! Hmmmmmmm........ and the Christian women's group is through EZ Boards.

The porn invites I'm getting is for private sites that allow you to watch small children, father's with little girls and boys, etc. That's why I'm SO shocked. This is worse than anything I've ever imagined. And it calls me by my name!!! I can send the link to the Atty. General from that link Gina gave me. I always report it to [email protected] etc.

Hubby has his a laptop with an email address that he only uses for work and we have another computer that is online but is not used to check email. Only my computer gets this stuff. Of course, I've had this same email addy for 4 years.

I just checked... I have my security on Medium High. Privacy is also on Medium High. Content allows NO vulgarity, no partial nudity, etc. I cannot open a page with no rating without using my password. You'd think this would be enough! I've not done coupon sites and don't have gator that I know of!
