I have just been introduced to having a Life Verse, and I was wondering how many on BB have one, and what it is.
I like so many verses that it is difficult for me to choose just one.
    Any thoughts?

Not really sure about your meaning of 'life verse' but I have two that have meant a lot to me!

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Seek me and ye shall find me when you search for me with all you heart! Jeremiah 29 : 13

Believers often fail to realize the great blessings of deep constant searching to know God, His ways, His will that continue over the years after becoming a believer! These two verses have meant much to me!

    Matthew 6:33

    Here on Earth

    Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

    Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

The ultimate goal it to enter Heaven but I love these verses because they let me know that as long as I serve Christ, that I can accomplish anything here on earth.

    I have always liked.

    1cor 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
    2Ti 1:7

That became my life verse the day I got saved.

Answer me a question. Someone in our church had a life verse for 50 years and then changed it.

How do you change a LIFE verse?

Maybe if something big in your life changes, even as a believer?

I was asked as a new believer what my life verse was, and I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. I barely knew the Bible. I had to search and find something I liked so I could read it (I had to make a brief statement in the church for something).

My Life Verse is John 1:14.

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,
    full of grace and truth."

To me, this verse says it all.

Several years ago God gave me this verse to lead my life and ministry: John
8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." What we believe, how we live, what we do is of no value if it is not based on the truth of the Word of God.

    Acts 20:24
"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

A couple, but I guess the biggest one that isn't just for "selfish reasons" has been Ephesians 4:29

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."

I used to be a lot rougher than I am now in dealing with others, and repeating this verse has helped change that. I may still have a long way to go, but attempting to live this verse has meant a lot to me and changed how I communicate with other people. In real life I've learned that if it shouldn't come out of my mouth and it wants to, I need to walk away until the urge passes, to remember that my thoughts should be Christ's thoughts, and if I can't do that I need to keep my mouth shut until I can.

It really does alter your life. I don't just not say stuff now, very often I don't think it anymore either. But it started with wanting the ideal in that verse, then with not saying it or with saying it gracefully and out of love if it had to be said, which has moved to not thinking the bad and only thinking of the good/benefit for the other person.

Of course that's not all the time, but compared to where I was, there has definitely been progress and that's a praise.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true (T), whatsoever things are honest (H), whatsoever things are just (J), whatsoever things are pure (P), whatsoever things are lovely (L), whatsoever things are of good report (G); if there be any virtue (V), and if there be any praise (P), think on these things.
