Pizza last night. Needed to use up some of our peppers.

Grilled a beef tenderloin tonight with Wifey's parmesan crusted steak fries.

Chicken Parmesan (more like chicken with a few types of Parmesan, Mozz and Muenster) along with butter beans and a salad.
That was my first time making that main course and it was pleasantly simple to prepare. Unfortunately I'm the only one who likes almost no types of Italian foods. Subway sounds wonderful!

Going out with hubby, but already had it planned so for the kids, they're having "spaetzle" made with sauteed leeks, mushrooms, and ham. Just had hubby pull the apple crisp out of the oven.
That's an all-around favorite meal here!

    Experimentally roasted whole chicken.

Experimental because it is seasoned with chili, cocoa, garlic, smoked paprika, fresh cracked pepper and sea salt.

Looking forward to the reactions at dinner. If they like it, I win. If they don't like it, I still win because the leftovers will become dinner tomorrow. HA!

Not sure how the cocoa would affect the results, but the rest sounds like it would make a nice stick-to-the-ribs savory chicken dish.

Thus sayest Wifey, "Thou shalt grillest me a beef tenderloin this weekend."

    "Most happily I shall," I reply. :tongue3:

It turned out very nice (unsweetened cocoa btw) and almost every bite of it disappeared at record fast pace.

That style chicken is definitely getting added as a regular around here!

Thus begins my jump into cooking savory dishes with chocolate. I'm going to look some stuff up and try some already made recipes so I can learn how it works and interacts with different foods and sauces, then I'll try my hand at more intricate recipes using it.

    Make it yourself night.

I had garlic tortilla chips with fresh tomato salsa and guacamole.

We all had apples and honey for dessert.

That's what the younger kiddos had for dinner last night. It was the one's birthday dinner and we asked what she wanted. Now she just adored Olive Garden when we took her. She liked Applebee's a lot. She even liked Red Lobster.

    And she chose McDonald's. *sigh*

SO thankful she chose a cake with whipped cream frosting instead of the super sweet stuff. But she didn't know, she just thought it was pretty because it had roses on it and I agreed! :-D
