When a Jevoha Witness knocks on your door, what do you do???

I take time and preach to them. I remember when I was smaller, me and my family used to try and hide but man they will find you. They will look through the mini-blinds until they would catch us..

    What do you do??

    What should we do???

Dont attack them, that is the worst thing you can do, rather discuss with them the Watch Tower and ask them questions about it. Yet again Dont personally attack them in any manor.

The Watch Tower has predicted many different dates of Christs return , which obviously was false. Ask them why NONE of thier predictions have ever come true. They are not acurate on their bible translation either, many of the words have been changed to fit their beliefs. Only one of their bible translators had any greek training when they made their bible and that was only 2 years of study.

Their second leader after Russell, was a man named judge rutherford, there are pictures of him acutally opening christmas presents . It wasnt until later that they got rid of christmas and the giving of presents.

Let em in. But you better have your ducks in a row so you can refute their beliefs.

They are on a railroad train of rehearsed scriptures. I take their magazines and promise to return them the following month with my remarks. Then I give them my personal testimony. It is the only scripture they will actually receive, and cannot refute.

I agree it is ineffective to maltreat them or try to mesmorize them with how much scripture you know; you are usually just quoting proof texts anyway.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I will tell you what I do. They want to have a Bible study, I say sure. JW are lost souls in need of the LORD..and I have someone at my door looking to study the Bible..that needs Christ. I'm not going to run them off.

I always setup the study in my house. They come in..and sit down and we have small talk. Then I say..OK how long do you want this Bible study to last? They will always say...not more then a hour each night...unless I want to go longer. OK..I hour is fine with me, but we will go longer it you want.

I always asked them this 1st...before I get to my big line.

    This is it...

I say..Being this is my house, I will lead the Bible study.

Now I have at least one hour to share the Word of God with them.

I then open to the Book of Hebrews. I have never had a JW come back after the 2nd chapter. JWs have no answer for Hebrews. I make sure they read the Bible in key places..and ask them what it means. The 1st chapter quotes the OT tons of times and we look up each verse. God the Father calls the Son..GOD! I make them read that out loud. I have done this around 20 times and none of them have ever read this before. They never know what to say.

If you do talk with JWs..stick to subjects that matter. The holiday, brithdays, blood, flag, stack and not cross, war, which Bible to use and other things are just side tracks. Stick to the deity of Christ. The deity of Christ DOES matter.

    In Christ..James

I take them on Scriptural wise and the last time they came here was over 5 years ago, so I think I been blacklisted.
The last time they were here they started backing off going down my driveway while I was still quoting Scripture and they began to swing their fists at me.
I hollowed at them: "the Bible says to get angry, but sin not". :D :D

I ask them what John 1 says in the Greek . . .

    . . . . then I open a Greek Interlinear . . . ain't it funny when grown men and women fear English?

Then I take a knee and talk to the little kid they always seem to have with them.

"I can read this Greek. I have studied the Greek. But, I will tell you in English, Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is God and He is man. I cannot explain it - can any man understand God? But, when they tell you that they can read the Greek - you remember that God put me hear today to tell you the truth about Jesus Christ. . . . He is the way the Truth and the Live - no one goes to the Father apart from Him and He is not an Angel. The Greek says that the Angels will worship Christ. So will we."

I zip up the case. Look at the adult that always seems to ask, "What are you going to say to me?" I hate to say it, but I have said, "You have no excuse. You have corrupted the Gospel of Jesus Christ and made him out to be a man. And you lied to me about studying the Greek. And you lied to this poor child."

When my sisters and I were kids, when we saw Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons approaching, we pulled down the blinds, locked the doors, turned out the lights, and hid behind the furniture and didn't move until they left.

Many years later, in 1996, my church decided to go through the neighborhood and talk to people about our church (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod). After returning, I told the Bible study class about the people I met: some were Catholics, some were Baptists, a couple Methodists, one or two Presbyterians, and one lady who was a Jehovah's Witness. I grinned and said, "It was nice coming to THEIR door for a change." The class burst out laughing.

I say "WELCOME friends. I have been hoping you would come to my door".

Then I study whatever they want as long as we can use NASB or NKJV or something along those lines.

I MUCH prefer that approach to the one used by Mormons who come to the door saying "Here is Joseph Smith - lets open up one of his books and study him OR the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible".

I MUCH prefer it to the RC method of saying "Here are some non-Biblical teaching from the Dark Ages - lets look at some of these sources instead of the Bible - and then pray to the dead".

    In Christ,

    Bob

I miss them too BroBob, when my daughter was young she would go out and see them down the block. She'd run in, tell me their comming and would set up Bible study. She'd then run back out and tell them we've been waiting for them. It was the highlight of our Saturday.

I'd give them their ten minutes to exaust what little they knew then we'd go into Hebrews, 1st Chpt of John etc... I'd let my daughter do most of the reading. The'd usually go out and get the more tenured guy which I loved to see him get backed into a corner. One of them, Marion, is now a member of my Church.

I must be blacklisted also. They go by our house but don't knock. My daughter now has a school mate that's JW and she wears him out to the point he won't mention Bible around her.

tali, the name of the group is spelled "Jehovah Witness"! :D

Bob and Buick: I never thought about this before, but you may be right. For they no longer stop at my home very much either, and they are certainly out there, I often see some of them on Sundays, usually around 2 P.M., at the local Chinese restaurant that I frequent at least three to five times a week, and often see them there other days as well. And I did somewhat get the idea that (as another poster mentioned something similar) the last time one actually came to my home, that he may have thought he'd bit off more than he could chew with me. Not trying to brag, but that was what I sensed, and they have not 'dropped in' since. So you guys may definitely be on to something. Blacklisted by a cult! :tear:

The last time they knocked on our door, my wife took as much material as they wanted to give her and once they left, she tossed it in the garbage. She figured that was material they couldn't give somebody else.

I would tell them that you are not inclined to accept a belief system that has them so blatantly disrespecting your privacy.

Jesus said "By their fruits ye shall know them" Matthew 7:20 (ASV). Tell them there is nothing to discuss; their works have said it all.

If I was caught looking through the blinds of a residence where at least one lady lived, I would be arrested -- never mind that I would never consider it just because it is rude. Decent people knock on the door or ring the door bell, and if no reply, leave -- period.

Let's say you are going door-to-door enviting your neighbors to accept Christ --- only discover that one of them does not believe exactly as you do -- already...

    What do you do?

Heb 1:1 God, who in various ways and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
    Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 who being the effulgence of His glory and the exact expression of His substance, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Heb 1:4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
Heb 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be a Father to Him, and He shall be a Son to Me"?
Heb 1:6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."
Heb 1:7 And on the one hand he says to the angels, "He who makes His angels spirits and His ministers flames of fire."
Heb 1:8 But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
Heb 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions."
Heb 1:10 And: "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
    Heb 1:11 They shall perish, but You continue; and they all shall grow old like a garment;
Heb 1:12 and like a cloak You will roll them up, and they shall be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not fail."
Heb 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet"?
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits being sent out to minister for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?

Joh 8:57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"
Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."
Joh 8:59 Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, having gone through their midst, and so passed by.

Joh 10:29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.
Joh 10:30 I and the Father are one."
Joh 10:31 Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

Joh 13:19 From now on I tell you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe that I AM.

    Joh 10:37 If I am not doing the works of My Father, do not believe Me;
Joh 10:38 but if I am doing them, even if you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him."

Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
