Since I was dead and as dead could do/be nothing, my response of "repentance toward sin and faith toward the living God" had to come AFTER God did something to give me life!

Call that "quickening" or "regeneration" or "implanting faith", but that is 100% GOD'S work which enables dead Bob to become living Bob.

Coming to faith is the quickening of God! It is faith that saves, therefore it is faith that quickens. Faith brings life eternal, Jesus said so.

Here are all the verses I could find in the NT that mention quickening, the New Birth, or being born from above. In which one of these verses is faith given as the causation for being made Spiritually alive?

John 1:13 "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

John 3:3-8 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Eph 2:1 "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:"

Eph 2:5 "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)"

Col 2:13 "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;"

James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

1 Pet 1:23 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."

1 Pet 3:18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

John 5:21 "For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will."

John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

Rom 4:17 "(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."

1 Tim 6:13 "I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;"

God quickened me, then saved me, all because He foreknew me and predestined me. His foreknowing me was not based on my decision which would've came later, but based merely on his good pleasure, that he didn't appoint me as a vessel of wrath. All glory to His Name Alone.
