Oh, I have heard people say that they hate Cubans. They call them coconuts. And it is not my idea but Joe Sobran's that they are hated because they remind Democrats of the failures of big government. And it comes from Herbert Fontova, one of the leading voices of the dissident Cubans. And it comes from the fact that the Democrat Party wants to give money to the Castros and yet does not want to make the Castros deal with their innumerable murders. Will all due respect, God does not need the cooperation of Democrats to overthrow the tyranny of communism. We see the Democrats reversing the policy of President Truman in the Middle East and saying that they are going to get a UN resolution against Israel. And we see the Democrats overlooking the racism and crimes against humanity of Fidel/Raul Castro and attacking Cruz personally.

I'm starting to believe he can't help himself. He draws the "guilt by association" fallacy like a gun.

If you don't see it his way you're taking sides with "the devil" he's trying to demonize.

Poncho, this has nothing to do with you one way or another.

To everyone other than Poncho, what surprised me about Cruz's announcement is the firestorm that it caused. I had thought that Cruz was a long-shot, dark horse candidate and the leader was Gov. Walker. But Cruz called to remembrance the plight of the anti-communist refugees in a country headed down the path to Fabianism and more and more government control. Worse still, it called to mind the attempt to give taxpayer-funded foreign aid to a Stalinist regime that would pocket the money in the already bulging Swiss bank accounts and continue the racist and political repression that has been used for the last 55 years. Only now there would be the economic blessing of the USA.

Which is crazy. He's making guilt by association about topics even he didn't start off talking about in the thread.

Economic blessing of the USA?

Look at the economic blessings the USA brought to Afghanistan. 90+% increase in opium production. $$$

If Cuba had a big oil reserve or natural gas deposits the USA would have replaced the Castros years ago with it's own Washington friendly dictatorship. Even if it had to pull another false flag event to do it. See the "Northwoods Document".

Washington doesn't care about "the children" or "ladies in white" or "freedom and democracy for all" it cares about keeping it's corporate sponsor's pockets full of money.

No one has said that anyone is guilty of anything except that Democrats hate Cubans.

You accused me and CTB of the above and I asked what does that have to do with hating Cubans?

Why Cruz is half-Cuban. Personally, I never thought that he had much chance until the Democrats reacted so strongly with the announcement of his candidacy. The Dems must be afraid of Cruz, but I agree with Humberto Fontova in the link that it deals with the fact that living breathing refugees from communism are not popular with the advocates of big government.

I guess we're supposed to believe that the democrats are the only party that advocates big government, in spite of all the evidence that republicans love it just as much.

Oh wait that's right republicans prefer fascist big government rather than communist big government. I guess that would make a difference after all.

Probably the same place you did when you said I hated the poor.

    Again, if only.

So Hillary Clinton is a woman. She hasn't announced a candidacy and the Repubs are foaming at the mouth trying to "get" her. Shall we assume that Republicans hate women? Are the Republicans scared of Hillary?

I'm scared to death of Hillary, personally. She will give Fidel a lot of money and a lot of tourists will flock to Havana because they don't have a McDonald's (although every year more and more tourists go to Havana) and the repression of the poor will continue unabated just as in North Korea. Hillary is just a rerun of Obama.

It seems difficult for Americans to care about racist, Stalinist Cuba, as many have pointed out.

Maybe Americans are more concerned with addressing the problems in this country than fixing every other country's problems. A job that Washington has continually proven it is incapable of doing.

No come to think of it you're probably right. Americans have been content so far to let Washington and Wall Street rob them and their children's future to go rampaging about the world going into debt by the trillions to "make it safe for democracy" with radical Islamic and neo nazi proxy armies, "humanitarian invasions" and occupations that the people in those countries don't need or want.

All it's takes is the proper amount of demonization, fear mongering, hostile threats, sanctions and provocations from Washington and the corporate mockingbird media and boom we're off to another glorious un constitutional intervention to save the poor people who don't already owe their souls to the private global bankers and corporations like we do.

This has nothing to do with what you are trying to twist it into. No one said anything about fixing Cuba. That is entirely your idea. You constantly try to twist everything ever said into something that never was said nor implied.

I am asking for people to have compassion for the plight of people suffering under communism. I realize that your political party of paleo-cons does want to be bothered.

Seriously? A large chunk of America thinks that Blacks are complaining too much about unarmed black men and boys being shot and killed.

A large chunk of America would secretly applaud U o Oklahoma SAE frat.

A large chunk of America doesn't understand why a lot of Blacks are offended by the Confederate Flag and it's ties to white supremacy.

Bump Cuba. America needs to deal with racist America before they go knocking anyone else.

And like I said previously, how America treats black people was let out of the proverbial genie's bottle with Eric Garner.

So you start knocking Cuba and their racism and see how the rest of the world responds.

Wow, Zaac, you should leave the liberals and join the paleo-cons so you would not have to be bothered.

It has everything to do with it. We've all heard this same neo-con job before. It's always the same old song and dance. You're all compassionate sounding and want nothing but the best democracy our credit cards and children's blood can buy for all the countries the neo-cons end up destroying, picking clean and leaving in the hands of Islamic head choppers, neo nazi racists and other forms of brutal dictatorships.

We've all seen this movie before and it never has a happy ending for anyone but Wall Street and the military industrial complex.

We've tried it your way several times now and your way has failed every time. It's time to try something else.

And you ask most immigrants and people not in the middle and upper classes in the US, and just about any racial minority or woman planning to get an abortion or LGBT individual , and they'll ask you why the GOP seemingly has no love or compassion for them as we sit here as a Constitutional Republic?

Does the GOP not want to be bothered either?
