In a "nutshell" it will more-than-likely result in my HMO being taken away from me. An HMO I worked nearly 18-years for the privilege of having throughout my retirement years. An HMO that has very low co-pays. An HMO that has no limits on any medical procedure, medicine, or tests. An HMO that has worked to be one of the very best, as well as the most patient friendly one around. An HMO that allows me to pick and choose my doctors, and treats me with respect, and at times like royalty [like when I was hospitalized].

I want everyone that desires health insurance to have it....JUST not at the expense of me losing my HMO because the provider of my retirement fund may find it more economical to change to the government plan.

FRANKLY, I don't believe Obama's promises that those who already have insurance can keep it. While I believe he means it when he says we can keep it, I believe his hidden message is that we can keep it as long as we can afford to pay the higher premiums brought about by this mediocre, back room medical care insurance policy.

The government has yet to prove that it can operate anything correctly, and I see this health insurance program dragging us further down in debt. Enough said, because most Americans know how incompetent the government truly is when it comes to running programs for the people, and by the people.

This health program has TOO many unanswered questions, and until the POTUS opens up with the kind of transparency it promised during the campaign, I will join the fight to stop it. This insurance could be very expensive for people such as myself!:tonofbricks:

I don't believe anything Obama and most democrat politicians say. If the Government takes over health care, which is the goal of most democrats, a substantial number of doctors have indicated they will leave practice. Then we will see real rationing.

as we've seen, he's a habitual liar, so no one should believe him in anything, he's demonstrated more then once he doens't know what he's talking about.
The stupidest thing I've heard is fining poor people $3800 if they can't afford insurance. Some people have no idea that real poor people actually exist, and what poor really means.

You realize that Mass. has been using a health care system very similar to the one Obama is proposing for about 4 years now, right? What disaster has happened there that warrants this kind of paranoia? The answer is none. You just hate our country's first black president. A lot of people hated Kennedy because he was a Catholic so i understand.

The Massachusetts model is moot in this discussion about a federal policy. More power to MA if they want to do this, but remember they're starting with FEDERAL FUNDS for a state-imposed law! How can that be?! MA funds barely one-third of this crazy law, while the rest of us pick up the balance of the tab. Lovely.

Anyway... MassHealth, Commonwealth Care and Commonwealth Choice aren't even fully developed yet! They're still working on trying to make the whole thing work! And even after it is totally up and running, it will take decades for us to be able to look at it and determine if it's working or not, so don't even TRY to use it as an argument for Federalizing healthcare... that's not even a fallacy, that's just a plain lie.

IMHO it's government's sticking their nose into the whole health-care issue with Medicare and Medicaid that's broken the back of the system in the first place. It's simple... Gov't comes along and tells hospitals and providers that they MUST accept lower payments for Medicare/aid patients... costs then SHIFT to the private sector market to cover this unconstitutional law. Medicare/aid GROWS tremendously and in turn, more and more costs are shifted to the private sector until it becomes over-inflated. The model was doomed to failure from the beginning, and politicians KNEW it, so did the American public... it's just like a FIAT CURRENCY! It is DOOMED.

I'm very fond of fine dining, but simply cannot afford a fine-dining experience more than once a year. I think BHO should mandate that restaurants stop charging what the MARKET WILL BEAR and instead have a maximum markup on goods sold so none of us are discriminated against when it comes to fine dining.

It's a silly analogy, I know, but the healthcare debate is just as silly to me.

The Dems and their supporters are framing the law on health care "reform" so that many small business will be forced to drop their employee health insurance because the cost of the fine will be far less than what they currently pay for their employees. Then, the individuals will be forced into the "voluntary" government option. There are other little gimmicks in the bill that will result in more and more people being forced into the gov. option. Then, the program will be so expensive that real health care rationing will be here. The failures in England, Canada, and other socialized medicine programs will look like flaming success stories by comparison.

The funds in Pastor Paul's retirement and accounts for his HMO are going to get gobbled up by taxes in the name of fairness and he's going to end up standing in line to get an aspirin if Obamacare passes.

For the record, Alatide... I don't hate anyone. I strongly disapprove of the idea of socialist healthcare. It's as simple as that. :)

How can you be so naive?????

Everyone, EVERYONE, (well, all liberals anyway:laugh:) knows that any opposition to the "0" is strictly on the basis of skin color alone!!!!

What other reason could there possibly be?????:tonofbricks:

    Bolded mine

You're the one who introduced it, (post # 4 " You just hate our country's first black president.") why should anybody else answer this question?

Going slightly off-topic here for a moment... but I just love how a lie isn't really a lie anymore... it's a specific type of fallacy or a misunderstanding by the listener of how a specific word was stressed by the speaker.

Thanks for the posts, JWP... aren't MP's posts maddening sometimes? It's laughable how in the end there's really no arguements of substance, but just weak rhetoric and racism.

How can you possibly accuse me of racism, MP when you have no idea whether I'm red, white, black, yellow, brown, purple, pink or orange? I think -you- are being a racist by assuming things about me! :)
