    Our Constitution and its checks and balances would prevent the supposed scenario from ever taking place. If we survived the "Constitutional Crisis" of the disputed 2000 election results, it would take something pretty huge to effect such a thing.

    We also survived the Civil War and I am pretty sure that President Lincoln declared martial law in Maryland and Delaware to keep them in the Union.

    LE is right - we will see if the authors of the articles are loonies or not.
