Some people find it so very difficult to say something really good about the King James translation of the Bible that they find it necessary to say many really terrible and fictitious things about the other translations of the Bible and the people who use them. :( And since the KJVO camp has so very little good to say about their translation in this thread, I shall say something good about it.

My very first Bible was a King James Bible and I enjoyed reading it so much that I found myself reading more and more of it every day until I was reading, studying, and underlining 27 chapters a day. The KJV was a monumental achievement manifestly blessed by God. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

TeeHee, reminds me of the pallet
of sacks of cow manure i saw in front of
a grocery store. The following statement
was in letters larger than the letters
denoting the contents:
ALL NATURAL.
Yes, Sir, not one
artificial thing in that cow poop [IMG]

I have three DIFFERENT KJVs right on
my computer desk. Two of them denote
in footnotes (KJV1873) and sidenotes (KJV1611)
the 2,156 Old Testament alternate readings
and the 767 New Testament alternate
readings found among the Textus Receptus (TR)
documents from which the KJVs were translated.

AMen, Brother Craig -- Preach it! [IMG]

My God was BIG enough to give me
many versions of the HOLY BIBLE, including
three different versions of the KJB.
I wonder about those whose teeny-tiny
God can only come up with one version
of the Bible (and such persons can't
even agree with each other
on which KJV is right is the KJB).

I believe the following to be the KJB:

KJV1611
KJV1769
KJV1873

Each individually is the written word
of God in English; all collectively
are the written word of God in English.

RE: "tearing down the KJV".

It's not unusual for people to react in like kind (although they shouldn't) when the version of the Bible that they love and the Holy Spirit has used in their life to sanctify them is called a "satanic counterfeit" and/or an "antichrist" Bible.

Romans 14:12
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

27 chapters a day. Wow! And time to meditate and study on these 27 chapters? Wow! The Bionic Bible Man has arrived!

LadyEagle said it best,"Too bad so many have left their first love." [IMG] To a lady with real compassion for Truth.

Too bad so many have left their first love. [IMG] </font>
Mine, Bible-wise, was the NASB. However, I wasn't "married" to it; therefore I am free to see what else God has made available literature-wise.

LadyEagle and qs; Why settle for the child (KJV), when you can have the "Parent"? "The Originals!" Why settle for the fruit (KJV), when you can go to the Root? "The Originals!" This is the True First Love, not the offspring [IMG]

Cranston, your post invites the wrong kind of spiritual implications there, brother. Seems your "hopping" around could have some nasty attributes. Just thought I'd bring you around to the sometimes speculative assumptions by many.

ALERT!ALERT! Orvie has found the ORIGINALS!

I'd rather be a child in the Lord's eyes, He did say praise is perfected in the mouths of "BABES!" uh,not "babies". Now I think I just had another thought concerning I Peter 2:2.

Too bad so many have left their first love. [IMG] </font>
Please don't misuse scripture. The first love being referred to in Rev 2 is not the KJV of the Bible.

Wanna get technical? The "first love" in Scripture is JESUS CHRIST, after His gospel was preached to those who'd never even heard of God at all. As for "hopping around", many verses are presented more clearly in one version than they may be in another. Remember, the AV 1611 translators wrote, "VARIETY OF THANSLATIONS is profitable for the understanding of the SENSE of the Scriptures". They clearly meant not just the words, but the thoughts behind them.

And I've repeatedly stated a brutal TRUTH that apparently hasn't registered between the ears of some people: ANY EVILDOER CAN TWIST THE MEANING OR THE WORDS OF ANY VERSE OF SCRIPTURE FOR AN EVIL PURPOSE! The version used doesn't matter. The devil is WAY smarter than all of us put together. We'd have no chance if it weren't for JESUS. Consider that before you speak against His word any more just because you don't like the version it's in. Just ask yourself, "Is KJVO of God, or man? Am I FIGHTING GOD by speaking against other BVs?"

OHOH! My first Bible was a Douay-Rheims which I used until it almost fell apart, since then I wore out 4 KJ Bibles in my 45 year walk with the Lord.

I am now on my 5th KJV (1611 First Edition facsimile). I don't want to go back to my "first-love Bible" (although I still have it).

Too bad so many have left their first love. [IMG] </font>
Amen! I know several people who have left their love for the Gospel to take up preaching against what they like to call modern versions rather than contemporary translations of the Bible.

I have three NIV's and there are no verse deletions between them either.

Too bad so many have left their first love. [IMG] </font>
Amen! I know several people who have left their love for the Gospel to take up preaching against what they like to call modern versions rather than contemporary translations of the Bible. </font>
How true! There is a church where I live that puts out all kinds of literature but it is still the same numbwer in attendance after 30 years. I wonder about their evangelism to the lost. Even the population has grown some during that time but they have not. In fact I was witnesssing to a man a few months ago and considered them laughing stock from what he had heard. So I spent some time explaining how transaltions were done and then our conversation went from there to the point where I was able to give him the gospel. Up to that point he labeled them as fundamentalists. That is all he knew about the religious nuts. It actually took away from his inquiry until I met him and do some further explanation. Those kind of nuts put several stumbling blocks in the way to hearing the gospel. This man knew about the church by what he had been told and heard but nothing about Jesus. If that church woui;d have spent as much time reraching those who don't know Christ as they do writing their literature they just might win a few to Christ.

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

I would rather know Him than know about Him.

King James Bible,(it`s not a version of the
bible,it is the BIBLE),is the only bible God has
perserved for the English speaking.I believe the
1611 is the one to read, preach and teach from.I
highly recommend the Cambridge TEXT ONLY.
All other versions ,NIV etc, are Satan`s attack on the final authority...They all remind me of the damsel in Acts 16:16-18 speaking some truth but
demon possessed all the time.
I`ve only been on the B.B. for a few days, but
every thing I`ve posted in defence of the Bible
this nation was founded on,(K.J.B.)I`ve been
attacked and railed upon by liberals and S.B.
until I`m ready to scream. If there is anybody
that still believes in the KJB with some zeal about you,
please contact me,because I`ve got my doubts
about the B.B.

This is a Baptist message board. If you are uncomfortable with that, you would probably be happier if you quit posting. Personally, I have had enough of your false statements about the Bible.
