It is a simple poll, however, if you say we need immigration laws, please be ready to give an account as to why and how those law should, would and could be enforced.

    Yes

    we need immigration laws.
However, the question is how efficiently do we enforce them? To choke off illegal immigration across the southern border to almost zero would require installing and maintaining a Soviet\East German\North Korean style border.
Do we want to see police asking for a person's "papers" in order to catch those who would otherwise melt into the WASP (Irish\Russian\Former Soviet Union, et al.) population? IOW do we want to have a police state?

Forged/stolen papers is a lucrative business worldwide. Some showed up in the missing 777 episode recently. Forged green cards are common.

We live in a real world of fake and take. Now what?

Some say our current commander in chief has forged paperwork.

Maybe we need a concerted effort to put tattoos and put armbands on all those determined to be illegal.

The Fed seems unable to deal with this dilemma.

    Keep your powder dry.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

We need the laws we have on the books enforced as described, without "executive order" being enacted to exempt illegals from deportation.

I sure hope this is sarcasm. If not, it is a disgusting post.

Or are you really suggesting that the government, ala Nazi Germany, permanently tag (mostly) Hispanic people so we can identify them as societal outcasts?

And then you suggest we should be ready for a domestic war, or even worse, executing these people if they become too populous?

The tattoo comment was unnecessary but reveals much.

Sorry to offend anyone. There is a certain sarcasm in the Nazi reference.

The curious thing is that the German people were mesmerized to the point of allowing their Heil Hitler to do such things. Could it happen to us? We have allowed the murder of millions of unborn Americans in the name of freedom of choice. Some freedom. More than half of the body politic do not have a problem with abortion.

There are a lot of people in high places who take advantage of illegals. We are reaping what we have sown in this regard.

The enemy is in the camp.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

We have laws, all we need do is enforce them.

It is illegal to help an illegal immigrant!

I don't know. I'd have to do research on why they are in place. But from what I gather, we definitely could work on improving them. At the very least make it easier for immigrants so that they don't need to get in illegally in the first place.

If it's already illegal, are you going to make extra, super illegal?

That is utter nonsense. Using your logic any crime could be justified ny need and would then indicate at the need to change the law.

Why in the world increase immigration when we have the fewest percentage of the population working in the last 30 years. Do we need more people on welfare or less? In my opinion we need to stop all immigration until the people here have the opportunity to assimilate.

Nope, that isn't what I'm saying. I'm saying that the immigration laws make immigrating harder than it needs to be. While I do not support illegal immigration, not everyone who does it is someone who has good reason to be kept out.

You're thinking that my answer is along the lines of changing the laws in an attempt to eliminate the need for a thief to steal rather than holding him responsible for his actions. I promise you that is not where my mind is coming from. (I'm not that naive about human nature.) Rather my my argument stems from my dislike of unnecessary government involvement.

Which is irrelevant to the current immigration issue.

If only there were some way to encourage people with a strong work ethic to immigrate here.

If we would stop paying people not to work it would instill a work ethic. The Apostle Paul had some good advice dealing with the loafers:

2nd Thessalonians 3:10. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

1st Timothy 5:8. But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
