Youth Group

While I love the fact that I have a big ol' bunch of older brothers in there,(the great majority of our YG is guys) and a fatherly figure (our awesome youth pastor), and the fact they all have an strangely hilarious sense of humor, the best part is the fact that we go through Scripture, verse by verse, word by word each time we meet, without watering down any controversial passages. (We've gone through sexual sin and women in the church, just to name 2 that come to mind.) We aren't afraid to say hell, that it exists, and anyone who doesn't accept Christ is going, no matter how kind or well-liked they are. We aren't afraid to say that there will be an end, and that it will be horrible for anyone who doesn't believe, and we aren't afraid to point out and discuss the many lackadaisal churches of this day and age. That's what I like most about my youth group.

 

well lets see... instead of what I like I can definately list what I hate...

I hate the fact that whenever we're at church dad gets into his youth director roll so much he forgets I'm his daughter... he only way he'll answer is if I call him Mr. Alan... anymore it's that way at home too...

I also hate that dad doesn't seem to care if there are people who don't like softball/basketball... just because the majority wants to do it doesn't mean we can't do something else... all I ask is for ONE DAY of Ultimate Frisbee... so he waits until I'm unable to play to do it... great planning.

Sorry I'm just really upset with the way my life's been going lately

 

OUr youth group consists of five people now. My two best friends Tabbie, and Nichole aren't in it anymore. Tabbie turned twenty so she moved to the adults class, and Nichole is playing piano at another church now, which means she attends there all the time. So now I'm the only girl in the youth group, but it's ok. One of the boys is my age, and we've grown up together so were like brother and sister, and preacher's two oldest gradnsons are ok as long as they don't start trying to purposfully scare me to death. Jason, another of my good friends who I've known for like forever TEACHES {YIKES! LOL} the class now! It's interesting to say the least. He does a good job teaching, and there are times, I think he's ready to break into an all and out sermon! Most of the time we all get along...I just wish I wern't the subject of all their jokes...but I'm getting used to it....I think.
We all have an odd sense of humor, which is pretty funny. When we sing together in church it's pretty funny, but that's one thing I enjoy. Another thing I like is when we start discussing a passage of scripture, and hearing all our ideas on it.
I enjoy our times together....and one thing is for sure! We NEVER have a dull moment!

I like the fact that I have friends that are like me, saved and on there way to heaven. I have alot of fun with my youth group, and don't have many friends outside my church youth group.

 

I love that they support my Christian band and let us play once a month (they would prefer to up it though so they didn't have too! LOL!).

My favorite part is having fun and learning about God at the same time! Recently we went to Niagra Falls it was awesome. God makes so many wonderful things in this world.
