Use less energy and get taxed for doing so. It's about to become reality in Missouri. It's global warming madness gone a muck.

JEFFERSON CITY | Some Missouri residents and businesses soon could see a new charge on their electric bills — a fee for using less energy....

No it isn't. The article is about justifying it by conservation rather than passing on the cost of expensive builds of new power plants. The only climate change mention in the entire article is near the end, and looks at possible federal changes in the law. It is a very minor point to this, and deals with the possible law's impact on rates, not the climate. Nice spin attept though.
Public Service Commission Chairman Robert M. Clayton III said he feared that Missouri’s heavily coal-dependent electric customers will see a sharp spike in rates if federal climate legislation limiting carbon emissions becomes law. That makes it even more important for Missourians to reduce their collective energy use, he said.

Though it might seem illogical, the new energy efficiency charge has support from utilities, most lawmakers, the governor, environmentalists and even the state’s official utility consumer advocate. The charge covers the cost of utilities’ efforts to promote energy efficiency and cut power use.

People do not want to cut their power use. Build power plants, drill everywhere, set up wind mill farms, do it all. This will do more to stimulate the economy, and create jobs as well as reduce our need for foreign oil than anything else.

Sag it seems there was no spin.

The global warming myth is the design behind most of the conservation movement today and it's an economic disaster that will be passed onto the average citizen as this article points out so clearly. But, I understand MP's stance. After all he is an outstanding member and supporter of Al Gore's religion of global warming.

Actually, I am a believer in what God says about being a good steward of our home and our resources. Sacrificing our world in the name of industry is not a positive thing, nor is it progress. We can have both...taking care of our land, water and air...along with a vibrant and robust economy.

But a nice passive-aggressive personal attack.

You are welcome. But, I thought it was pretty straight forward actually.:tongue3:
Of course you did. I definitely consider the source. Sad for anyone, but when a so-called preacher does it, it is even more sad. Learn to make your case. But of course you and others of your ilk only know the ad hominem, since they cannot make a case based on facts and not persons. Your PA on me has nothing to do with the discussing this topic.

We could go back to hay burners. Folks used to burn buffalo chips. I guess we could use horse manure to heat the house, might be a little smelly. No air conditioning and all the Yankees would emigrate north This sounds better all the time.

But can you imagine the fly population in LA, Denver, and other major cities.

Boy, state the truth about MP and he goes on the attack. Then his little bull dog chimes in too. By the way your evaluation of my character as a pastor bears no weight what so ever on my self worth. So, insult away. I can dish it out and I can take it. :tongue3:

Chapter & verses, please ?

I thought we were told to subdue the Earth, not worship it. So far, everytime a liberal president gives the environmentalists a bone, the economy takes a major hit.

But a nice passive-aggressive personal attack.

Pretty thin-skinned, aren't we ?

So you don't believe it? In the Genesis tale, God said to subdue the earth. I think that task is complete. The Bible also tells us that the earth is the Lord's. He has entrusted its care to us. Look in the book of Ezekiel, Chapter 34.
18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet? 19Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
Do you believe we are to squander the bountiful land? Look at any strip mine and see what we have done. Being careful about the environment so that it is there for future generations is our duty. We have only borrowed it from our progeny. I want them to have the same beautiful planet as we have.

Doing the right thing environmentally doesn't mean going back to the stone age. It means developing and employing new and more efficient means of producing the energy and products we need.

I also find it interesting that "know it all" preachers who don't contribute a dime of productivity to the economy, rail so vehemently against preserving the creation God has entrusted to us.

I don't believe "Subdue the Earth" has an expiration.

Second, Ezekiel 34 is specifically directed at Israel, a promise to protect that nation himself. I will study that passage, but would be careful to negate one command on a misunderstanding of those three verses.

Third, we are on our way to the stone age, denying ourselves our own resources.

Fourth, your last statement is just a hateful rant, and is a great window to what is really going on in your heart.

When MP starts insulting preachers you can tell that the truth has hit home. Keep dishing it out MP, you are only helping to prove our point. Thanks!!!!

You're welcome. Perhaps you are in the wrong line of work. Preachers immune to criticism? I don't think so. You are quick to go on the attack, but if you're a preacher, fuggedaboutit.

Edited to add: Note I said "know it all" preachers, not any preachers. So thank you for self identifying.

I hope no one on here thinks we can alter Gods plan. You know we can make Him return before He wants because we wore the earth out. Global warming God did not know anything about it COME ON.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with any of these things. We can agree on that. But, that still doesn't erase the stupidity that the article speaks about.
