Have you seen this one? I'm not sure exactly how long its been available (maybe since 2003?). I just noticed several brand new copies this week in a Half-Price bookstore (about $10). Its published by FIRST BIBLE of Bath, England.

"The integrity of the KJV text has been retained." They have formatted the KJV text into paragraphs (according to the original pilcrows), and added quotation marks around all direct speech (capitalizing the first word in a quotation). The text is formatted to be 'ragged' along the right margin (that is, all lines do not have the exact same length). They have also added "subject headings". The original 1611 dedication to His Majesty (James) is in the front, but alas, no preface to the Reader. No maps, concordance, or any else in the back except a lexicon to "help with archaic words and words whose meaning has changed."

Special question for the hardcore KJV purists: Would you consider this a legitimate KJV Bible?

    NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED

The question has to be asked - is God the author of this flood of new versions? Is God the author of CONFUSION in His word? 1 Corinthians 14:33, clearly states God is NOT the author of CONFUSION.

    God bless in Jesus.

You have difficulty staying on-topic. Would you consider the TKJB a legitimate KJV Bible? If not, why not?

And the answer to the question you had to ask -- Yes, the Lord has blessed the proliferation of many new versions in a number of languages including English. You have issues with the Lord if you doubt that. (Of course versions such as the NWT and such are against His true Word)

If the archaic language is gone then its a counter-feit.

The NWT is translated from the same source for the ones you claim to be Gods Word so dont knock it because it can be used to win souls and thats about it.

Who now has trouble staying on the topic?

According to the OP the archaic language is retained. There is just a lexicon in the back to define a number of archaic words.

So, since the archaisms are kept -- would you consider TKJB a legit King James Bible?

The deliberate twisting or confounding of God's Word is readily apparent to even a casual observer.

    That would be you, Steven.

    Really?

You think God used the following men to give you His precious Words?I came across this while researching the JW`s.Funny thing how all of this mess is tied to the attack of Gods book KJV.

Dr. Bill Grady said it best in his excellent book, Final Authority...

“Wescott and Hort, were a pair of unsaved liberals whose open Vatican sympathies cast them as the consummate Jesuit plants.”

“To regain her corner on the market, Rome created an elite paramilitary Gestapo unit that would make Himmler’s SS appear like a Sunday school….sparking what historians call, the counter-Reformation. The infamous Society of Jesus was founded by Ignatius De Loyola in 1534, more commonly known as the Jesuits….”

They are the most militant arm of papal power to this day. Their goals were to reclaim those that had left Catholicism and to attack the reliability of the Textus Receptus. They would use ANY METHOD to regain control including confiscation, treachery, torture and assassination.

Jesuits will stop at nothing to bring the whole world under subjection to the Vatican. The Jesuits ploy was to entice Protestants back to Rome. They knew they could not bring anyone back into the bondage of Catholicism as long as true believers clung to the pure text. So the Jesuits plotted to replace our Bible with pro-Catholic readings of Jerome’s Vulgate. This would cause the Protestant scholars to believe our text was unreliable, unreadable and not scholarly. Once programmed, the scholars would attack the pure text, all the while, believing they were doing God’s service."

[SNIPPED ATTACK ON GOD'S WORD - ADMINISTRATIVE WARNING]

From the Forward of the 1950 version NWT:

"The original writings of the Christian Greek Scriptures, commonly called the New Testament, were inspired. No translation of these Sacred writings into another language, is inspired... The Greek text that we have used as a basis of our NW translation is the widely accepted Westcott and Hort text (1881) by reason of its admitted excellence. But we have also taken in to consideration other texts including that prepared by D. Eberhard Nestle and that compiled by the Spanish Jesuit scholar Jose Maria Bover and that by the other Jesuit scholar A. Merk..."

    9. *The Jehovah's Witnesses used Jesuits and Roman Catholic manuscripts to aid in the translation of the New World Translation.

'GREEK TEXT: The Greek Text that we have used as the basis for the New World Translation is the widely accepted Westcott & Hort text (1881), by reason of its acknowledged excellence. But we have also taken into consideration other texts, including those prepared by D. Eberhard Nestle, the Spanish Jesuit scholar Jose Maria Bover, and another Jesuit scholar, A Merck. The UBS text of 1875 and the Nestle-Aland text of 1979 were cinsukted to update the critical apparatus of this edition." The Forward, The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures, 1985, page 8.

"In the broad left-hand column of the pages will be found the Greek text edited by B F Westcott and F J a Hort, and published in 1881." By Way of Explanation, The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures - 1985, page 5.

I will stay with Gods book and let you have your Roman Catholic book to read from.

    What will be will be.

Makes me no difference my God can do what He promised even though the unbelievers behind most modern day bibles has deceived students in cemetary I mean seminary to believe different.

Here is the truth you so reject.

You can't stay on-topic to save your life Steven. The topic is TKJB. Answer the questions the OP posed.

This is not the place to bring up your Jesuit conspiracy theories. This is also not the place to denigrate W&H.

The words are the same, only the formatting has been changed. I thought that was pretty clear from the start.

I disapprove of the way you drag threads off topic. However, I feel strongly that it is completely inappropriate to ply Scripture out of context in an attempt to support a personal conviction or opinion, and so I am compelled address it here.

The passage in 1 Corinthians is clearly referring to orderly worship services. The entire verse is: "For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." It appears that is often convenient when abusing a Scripture to only partially cite it. In addition, by removal from its context I think you misrepresent the specific kind of "confusion" that this verse intends (notice how it is contrasted with "peace").

So whether God is, or is not "the author" (words inserted by the KJV translators) of confusion in the topic of Bible versions cannot be established with this verse.

Well KJ Only have been labled as dividers when nothing could be further from the truth. The alexandrian sect left the KJV Only camp and the KJV Only people are still in place. The alexandrian sect left the KJV Only camp whom was standing first.

So the real dividers are those that refuse to take a stand that God`s book is in only one book. The modern day bibles dont even agree among themselves and how can two walk together except they agree?

Can two walk together except they be agreed?

    {Amos 3:3} KJB

How can anyone defend W & H after reading their antichristian writings while trusting in their bibles as the Word of God?

    God bless in Jesus.

    Steven.

The church is the context and set up the application in that passage. There is one interpretation but many applications. His application is appropriate. But note I am not a KJV only. Such notions are silly and I would argue that if we are going to quibble over variations among translations then we need to be consistent and hold a similar position for the church.

Dismissing all other translations based on differences between them is not valid. We need to go to each translation and address it on its individual merit.

How can you say that when YOU have not even read their writings? You may have read selectively edited portions of their writings, but I bet you never have bothered to see if they were quoted accurately- and they WEREN'T!

I double black dog dare you to do some real research instead of sucking milk from the KJVO bottles and find out if Riplinger and others were TRUE and FACTUAL in all their representations of W&H. You'll learn something for sure!

Language is not static. Punctuation, spelling, definitions, syntax, idioms, all evolve over time. Therefore updating any of these is necessary. What if the Bible were locked in time prior to the KJV? Could you understand scripture written in the early English of the time Beowulf was written? Or even the English of Geoffrey Chaucer?

Have you actually read their books? Or at least the portions that are quoted out of context or with multitudes of ellipses by their KJVO detractors?

    I doubt that you have.

To be sure W&H were not Fundamental Baptists, but they were no more "Catholic" than the translators of the KJV were.

    Oh that evolving bible.

We should never desire a translation that sacrifices accuracy for ease of reading as doing so assaults Gods words.

    God bless in Jesus.
