This is from our local paper here, about something that happened upstate in Louisville.

Someone didnt want their dog anymore so they threw the dog off the Clark Memorial bridge 80 feet into the Ohio River.

A waitress at a restaurant on the river saved the dog and is keeping it. It turned into a real drama, as the patrons eating stopped to watch, and broke into applause when the dog was saved.

Here is part of it, with a link to the rest and a picture....

The person who threw her off the bridge should suffer likewise- with concrete tennis shoes on.

Ok, maybe not concrete tennis shoes- steel ones- to give him/her a fighting chance.

Good thing it was Joe's crab shack.

Had it been a Chinese restaurant...the cook might have gone in to rescue the dog.

I loathe dogs. [IMG] All they do is lick you in the face and pee on your carpet. And I HATE pitbulls. They are mean and they are ugly.

But you know what I hate worse....

....people who throw dogs off of bridges. May justice prevail.

And may that pitbull (I can't believe I'm saying this) have a happy, peaceful life with much dogfood, belly rubs, and chasing sticks ....er.... or whatever dogs like to do.

And may she pee wherever she wants and lick as many people in the face as she wants.

    No you dont. :wavey:

But thats a good thing, not a bad thing. :love2:

Not after they have been trained not to.

They are not my favorite breed, but that is actually a misconception.

Not to his or her Mama dog they arent!

    Well, lets see...

They CAN be mean...if their owners make them that way.

Somebody is a cat person. Not a bad thing. I love cats and dogs. Right now I have one of each. Though I must confess, they don't like each other . I think my cat "Sheshe" would agree 100% with your post (if she could read).

I have trained my dog not to lick people on the face. Uly licks on the hand.

Pit Bulls are not ugly. One of my friends has the most beautiful dog I have ever seen, and she is a Pit. She is white with blue eyes. Gorgeous! All of the Pits I have met over the years are as sweet as they can be. Sure there are "horror stories" but, when you really think about it, those are the minority. Any dog can be mean if mistreated or neglected. Most Pit Bulls never hurt anyone. The problem some people have with Pit Bulls is that they are smart and very strong. Not the kind of dog you want to neglect or mistreat.

Yea, the story made me angry. Thankfully it has a very happy ending.

I really don't LOATHE dogs. I just don't like being around them. I don't like it when they jump on me! Even the little ones! LOL! (help!!)

I had a stranger to dump a dog in my yard out in the country once. It was a cute little long-haired white dog. My cat was the first to meet him in the yard and since he didn't care one way or another, I let the dog stay.

They got to be good friends. The dog even ate cat food. I almost started to even LIKE the dog. I named him Pup-Pup.

Then about a month later, he got hit by a car. :BangHead:

What I really loathe are people who are cruel to animals.

They have been cross bread for fighting. That is their whole purpose. And they are not to be trusted. At the same time we have, here in Florida, a crusade for the support of sharks making a very similar case. In both instances it can give people an unnecessary trust they should not have in either animal.
