NATO proposes link with Russia's missile defense

We may never love the Russians and the Russians may never love us ... but in the 21st Century there is, IMHO, a great possibility that we will have a mutual self-defense intererest where cooperation will be very important to both of us. How so? Simple, the rise of China and the rogue nations like N. Korea and Iran. Surely we do not want to drive the Russians into the arms of China and sympathetic to N. Korea and Iran.

BRUSSELS -- NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has urged the Western alliance and Russia to consider linking their defensive missile systems.

He says NATO and Russia have a shared interest in combatting the proliferation of intercontinental ballistic missile technology in other countries.

In his speech Friday, Fogh Rasmussen says, "If North Korea stays nuclear and if Iran becomes nuclear, some of their neighbors might feel compelled to follow their example."

Russia always does what they believe is in their best interests.

American liberals frequently will sell out their own country, especially when kissin' up to communists.

So any deal with the Russians , unless made from a position of strength, will always favor the Russians. They will also violate any agreement , when they believe it is in their interests.

Bottom line is that the Russians can be trusted to act like Russians.

Liberals can be depended on to act like Russian lackeys.

"If the United States agrees to participate in a climate change agreement on terms that are not in the nation's interest, but that help the world as a whole, there would be no reason for complaint...

Obama Czar Cass Sustein

Although this quote concerns American wealth, liberals carry the same attitude to the table for national security issues.

Excellent post carpro. It is a historical fact that Russia has always exhibited expansionist tendencies. It is also a fact that since the rise of communism in Russia the liberals in this country have always cast a wistful eye in that direction.

Show me a country that does not do what it feels is in its best interest.

Your opinion, but has no meaning as it is not true.

Have we ever violated a treaty when we felt it was in our best interest?

Bottom line is that the Russians can be trusted to act like Russians.

Liberals can be depended on to act like Russian lackeys.

Again, your opinion, but not true. The frantic right cannot see anything but war.

Is wealth in our interest?

What a stupid lie about conservatives. I voted for Chuck Baldwin, because I knew the zero would end nothing. You sound as bright as the people who voted for McCain over the abortion issue. "Frantic Rright". Wake up, C.T.B.. It is your hero that now has us killing Pakistani civilians.

Second, the U.S. constantly works against it's own interest. We fund illegal alien health care, we spend billions of borrowed $$ on illegal wars, we refuse to use our own resources because of liberal pressure, and we elect criminals to lead us. Usually criminals have to steal seats of power, but we give them up with doe-eyed affection.

You brought it up. ROFL

Crabby, I find it amusing that you can be so smug about your inability to read with comprehension.

Here is the context in which Capro used the word "wealth".

First he gave us a quote to serve as an example.

"If the United States agrees to participate in a climate change agreement on terms that are not in the nation's interest, but that help the world as a whole, there would be no reason for complaint..." Obama Czar Cass Sustein

Then he explained the purpose for the quote that he cited.

"Although this quote concerns American wealth, liberals carry the same attitude to the table for national security issues."

Capro was not concerned about "wealth" he is concerned about liberals attitude toward national security issues.

Your "ROFL" makes your error all the more sad.

Some American Indians can answer that quite accurately.

From what I have read our government never lived up to any treaty they signed with our Native Americans. I may be wrong and would like to see a link showing this is incorrect.

Sure . Great idea.

Just as soon as the Russians stop furnishing nuclear technology to Iran and N. Korea.
