I would oppose such a law; however, I would not react with violence in resisting it. I basically see only actually confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens to be an actual infringement of the Amendment II to the U.S. constitution.
But even in the case of actual confiscation of guns I find it hard to imagine myself using violence against a fellow human being over it. Now in protecting my wife or our dogs, yes, I can imagine myself using violence in defense of them. I love people. I love animals. I don't love guns.

Violence is not Christ's way.
No, I would respond with a pro-active exercise of my rights.
Some possibilities are:
Exercise the right to petition a redress of grievance.
Exercise the right of freedom of association to join together with likeminded people to defeat said law through the freedom of the press.
Exercise the right of assembly to join in a ?? million man/woman march upon DC to verbally and visually express our disapproval of said law.
Lastly cast one's vote against those responsible for or supporting the unconstitutional law.

However, I don't know what the count of petition signatures it takes to trigger a congressional response.
The biggest problem by fr is the lethargy and complacency of "we the people".
However, today's administration's deafness to "fly over America" has apparently "awakened" the proverbial sleeping giant of "we the people".

The federal government cannot require us to list our guns. The constitution does not give it that authority. Contrary to popular liberal belief the fed cannot just do what ever it wants.

raying:What planet do you live on, Brother!? Just like KenH said... the constitution doesn't give them the right to do a LOT of what they already do... why do you think this particular thing would be any exception?
Registry of ALL guns is coming, my friends... and it's coming VERY soon. Mark my words. And the date.
To answer the OP, no I would not resort to violence over registry of guns in my household, but I don't know how I'd react to a command from the gov't for a wholesale surrender of firearms to them. Which I think will eventually happen as well.
Actually, Amendment II referred to "well-regulated" in regards to a militia, and this is an instance where the federal government's right to enact regulation legislation in regards to the keeping and bearing arms is expressly mentioned.
