I just read THIS article from the Denver Post.

The summary: Insurance muckety-mucks in Colorado are afraid the new healthcare proposals will cause a "system collapse." Their view:

• In their views, penalties for not buying healthcare are too low. Thus, many healthy people won't buy, and will "wait until they need it."
• Since the "pre-existing condition" will no longer be an issue, folks will wait until they have the cancer or heart attack...and then will buy insurance. By law, the companies will not be able to refuse them.
• At that point, the companies will be spending more in care for sick folks than they will be receiving in premiums. If that happens enough, to enough companies, the system will implode.

My conclusion: That is exactly what is desired by our Congress (and likely, our President).

Why? Because with a system collapse, you have a crisis. And what is it that Rahm Emmanuel says? "Never let a serious crisis go to waste." At that point, the sheeple would be scared, panicky, and desparate for a solution...especially since we now have raised a generation unable or unwilling to take care of themselves.

So, of course, we will be rescued by the Great Rescuer of Americans. And they can put in whatever healthcare they want...which will be so much more socialistic, restrictive, and worse for America than this one.

Wow. And to think...we willingly put these people into power. God help us.

No... de Percin is stupid! They're going to pay a penalty of $200 annually and get to KEEP up to $10,000 in premiums. I would say that's getting something, wouldn't you?!

Scare tactics? Please. These are facts and you can bet that people will do it to save money. Seriously... why buy insurance before the fact when you can get it after the fact and get the same benefit?

Anyone who says this is a scare tactic is just plain nuts.

The IS about a pre-paid service plan, NOT about insurance.

Obvious solution is to once again permit INSURANCE companies to sell traditional major medical policies with restrictions about pre-existing conditions as the minimum mandated requirement.
