More government school zero-tolerance idiocy

I've said it before, a zero tolerance policy is a zero thought policy. In this case, it wasn't even an issue of zero tolerance, but an issue of zero policy,

Now, that said, why someone would bring shotgun casings to school is beyond me.

Have you ever taught school? You'd be surprised at some of the crazy stuff kids bring for snow n' tell, or just bring because it's important to them.

Yes, in fact, I have. My wife is a school teacher, also. Gotta love them kids.

My daughter's kindergarden teacher told the parents, "I promise not to believe everything your kids say about you if you promise not to believe everything they say about me."

Back to the OP. Someone wasn't using their head with this one.

I brought empty shotgun casings to school in 7th grade, along with a red squirrels tail to talk about my recent hunting experience as an assignment from my English teacher... Shoot, many of the boys had the live ammo in their pick-up trucks, along with the guns to go with them in High School. Some would go Deer hunting before school, and come to school with their camo on, or orange overalls, with a buck in the bed of the truck!... For those of us that lived in the country, this was normal!... Man, I miss those days... Days when teachers and school administrators still had brains!

We have a big tourist area near by, one of the attractions is an old west town, they do gun fights, cancan shows(family friendly), magic shows, lot sof stuff, and my boys used too, when they were little, collect the empty shells from the gun fights, they were of course not real, just an exposive end to make noise(what do you call these, I forgot), and they took them to school, now a days they'd be the ones suspended.
