I have asked this in another thread, but no one has answered.

I have never said that BO fails the qualification to be POUS based on a possible lack of the "long form" birth certificate.

I simply would like to know why BO refuses to release his long form certificate. Is he trying to hide something from the American public. (other than the slim possibility he might not be native born)

So, does this make me a birther, or what?

    Salty

Please no discussion on the pros and cons of whether BO is a citizen or not.
Just a simple yes or no to my question.

Hawaii released it ... and there it can be seen on the Internet, so why should Obama bother. He can't release it except by going through the state of Hawaii and getting what we can already see. You will not see more than you can now.

Give it up, it is totally silly.

We could complain on what other presidents have hidden, but to what use now?

    CTB,

Evidently you did not read the OP - nor did you answer my question

A slick trick by politicians - answer a question that isn't even asked.

    No, actually they did not.

Please, provide a link to the long form on the internet.

You will not be able to because it is not there.

Why are you suddenly against "discussion"?

I'm in the same boat, and I would say the answer is no. Birthers are trying to remove him from office due to this debate. I simply would like the answers and his participation. If it turns out his BC supports his right to be president, great! If not, he needs to go. Birthers want him out at all costs.

If I was Obama, I would refuse to release the long form because it gives credibility to lunatic fringe conspiracy theorists that their claims are actually worth listening to and need defending from. And for every crack-pot theory that you provide proof for, they will come up with 10 more to attack you. Why waste your time with such nonsense and give them any credibility.

That is like NASA actually releasing record after record to defend against claims that the moon landing was a hoax because conspiracy theorists keep coming up with ever increasingly complex theories after each document is released.

Those who won't believe in the face of evidence to the contrary, won't suddenly believe because you give them more evidence.

I do not know if that is true about "brithers" but I am of the same mind as you are.

I remember "them" trying to disqualify Barry Goldwater because he was born in a state before it was a state. Then, the US government defend a fellow in high office for his lifetime and he was born abroad..who was that famous ambassador? How about the governor of California? He has as much power as the president.....at least, influence!

Personally, I think the rule is foolish anyway. One only needs to be American to qualify for office, in my opinion.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Congress did not have a problem investigating McCain during the run up to the election. And he had no problem providing any info unlike Obama.

Oi! Let's get real, Jim! The Arnold having as much power as the POTUS?! That's laughable... at best!

I for one am glad that your opinion isn't law... it's in the CONSTITUTION for a reason. Remember... we're a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC... not a straight democracy for a very important reason.

The Governor of CA doesn't enjoy a 1/3 separation of powers over the state that the POTUS has. The CA Constitution is so lengthy and convoluted (it's several undred pages long) that the Office of the Governor is relatively limited.

Interesting, out of 8 posters, only 4 answered the OP. Sounds like our politicians. Hmm, we complain they never address the issues directly but often divert there answers. I wonder.....

So would anybody else like to answer my OP?

But then again, the way the administration is going, it may not even be an issue in 2012!

To the left, you are a "birther" if you even hint at the possibility their messiah doesn't qualify to hold the office by birth, and by questioning why he's spent millions to keep from releasing that little piece of paper, that's what you're doing... hinting he doesn't qualify.

To those capable of thinking critically, they also wonder why he'd spend millions to keep that little piece of paper from public view. Doesn't make you a "birther", but a "thinker'.
