WASHINGTON (AP) — President Obama on Saturday urged Congress to hold off on any investigation of the Fort Hood rampage until federal law enforcement and military authorities have completed their probes into the shootings at the Texas Army post, which left 13 people dead.

On an eight-day Asia trip, Obama turned his attention home and pleaded for lawmakers to "resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said those who died on the nation's largest Army post deserve justice, not political stagecraft.

I would think the FBI would already be investigating the events at Fort Hood. President Obama is trying to hold Congress off for now and I think that is a good thing. The last thing Fort Hood, or the nation, needs right now is a bunch of lying, two-faced politicians using the tragedy at Fort Hood to grandstand for their pet political ideologies.

So, in that sense I agree with the following statement:

"resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said those who died on the nation's largest Army post deserve justice, not political stagecraft."

I agree with President Obama on this one. Let the investigators do their work before Congress, whose job is to make laws, gets involved.

I don't want a bunch of liberals doing an investigation in the first place. The perpetrator is already being hailed as a victim, we don't need more of the same.
