SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building.

I think the only ones being deceived are those who deny the effects of pollution on this world, and the changes in temperature and weather deposits in given areas.

I have seen a significant change in snowfall in my area over the years. Perhaps this change is cyclicle, but none the less a change.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Brother this post is contradictory. but since you are willing to ignore evidence and submit to false information although it may be just cyclic then you will follow blindly as you currently are.

For the first 20 years we lived in the Seattle area the weather patter was very dependable. Rain from November thru April. May was nice. Then it always rained in June when the kids got out of school. One could plan outside weddings from August thru the first half of October. Not for the last 10 years.

First ten years we lived in this house the storms came from the south and the front door (west side) never got wet. Now it gets wet most every time there is a storm.

Weather is different from century to century, from decade to decade.

It in no way means that man is cooking the planet. Reasonable people have seen that the manmade global warming junk was a complete scam.

It is possible to be a responsible steward of creation (not polluting, etc.), without falling for the MMGW garbage. I think most folks on the BB (not all, but most) seem to have figured this out.

the scientific evidence didn't agree with them so they threw it out and made up their own facts.
sure didn't see any global warming this summer, the coolest summer in a very long time.

Shows that this is really more about money and idealogical politics than it is about real science.

    Agreed!

In this and other areas, where we have been so inclined to trust 'science' and the various communities of professionals which base their practice on science, because it is supposed to be the purest proof of evidence; it is time that we wake up and realize that science and the professions are just as plastic and uncertain when money and politics are in the brew inclining to a particular outcome instead of discovering the truth.

Even the AMA is politically motivated. About the only doctors group which is somewhat a renegade in most areas of politics and drugs.... are the surgeons. And that's because they deal the least with pharmacology........ and are possibly as much a target of law suits as obstetricians.

No, I don't claim to be a student of climate change. Please, someone explain the changes in England since the burning of coal was banned. Fewer "fogs" over London; fewer lung infections; a cleansing of the Thames.

If pollution is not a factor, why are there more laws regarding puffing the cigarette in public places, and people remarking about pleasant it has become to sit in cafes?

Why do we have less snow overall in Canada over the past 30 years? Not that we haven't had snow and some very good snowfalls, but no where near the inches total over a winter.

Why all the winter changes in places like Alaska? Why the earlier melts of ice up north? Why have the rivers in Alberta been polluted by the early runoffs?

Yes, I look outdoors in winter and see -30c on the thermometer and wonder about global warming posturing, but these odd temperatures do not relate to former winters when it remained that cold and colder througout the winter months.

How many years do cyclical changes require? 40 years, 80 years? I don't know. Something is happening out there.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hey, I appreciate the reduction in pollution as much as the next asthmatic.

But to suggest that man caused these "changes" (I could show you plenty of folks that have had cooler days the last few years) is scientifically irresponsible. To insist that man caused it, to the exclusion of all contradictory data, and any dissent, is outright fraudulent. To squelch research, manipulate data, ignore any data regarding our one (and only) heat source...this is what these buffoons did. Why should we trust them? They're frauds, crooks, and liars.

Look...manmade global warming was a planned wealth re-distribution scheme. And it's failing. Miserably.

(and by the way...recent data shows the earth is getting cooler.)

300 years ago the climate in England allowed them to grow grapes as a major crop.

No longer though - it's too cold.

    The climate changes.
