President Obama: Federal Government 'Will Go Bankrupt' if Health Care Costs Are Not Reined In
    December 16, 2009 3:01 PM

President Obama told ABC News’ Charles Gibson in an interview that if Congress does not pass health care legislation that will bring down costs, the federal government “will go bankrupt.”

The president laid out a dire scenario of what will happen if his health care
    reform effort fails.

Obama is partially right and partially wrong. The Federal Government will go bankrupt, but it will be due to social security not being reined in, and not because of the cost of healthcare.

In case no one has noticed... the Federal Government is already bankrupt.

The government has borrowed more than it can ever hope to repay no matter how much they tax us.

If he really wants to save social security, he should address it.

Instead he offers cuts in medicare benefits, but immediately wants to spend it to create another huge government entitlement program.

How does that improve the economic health of the nation?

He's a desperate liar trying to frighten people into accepting proposals of his that will definitely bankrupt the country.

If health care costs keep rising like they have been eventually only the elite will be able to afford the level of health care that most Americans are currently used to.

We need to eliminate all government involvement in health care - on all governmental levels - as soon as practicable in an orderly manner.

Liberals just refuse to recognize the fact that it is the price setting of the government in the medicare program that is the main contributor to the increased cost of health insurance.

Sounds like recycled Federal Reserve fearmongering when Paulson terrorized the country and congress into bailing out the banks who should have gone bust.

That's how this government operates no matter which party is in power.

This is nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe you haven't noticed because you've picked sides? They all conspire together to terrorize us into accepting their bonehead schemes and scams.

Be scared! Give us more money, power and control!

Republicans want us scared to death of cave dwelling goat herders and democrats want us scared to death of climate change and the health care "crisis" all so we'll willingly give up our liberty and our money.

Anyone who resides in the middle east that stands in the way of the global corporate takeover. A boogeyman to scare you into submission to the international corporate grand poohbahs.

An external threat contrived to convince you to willingly hand over your life, liberty and ever more devalued fiat currency to a cartel of international crooks who believe they have the right to rule the world and everyone in it.

That probably makes you eligible to be one of those con artists at carnivals who could drive the nail when the "mark" couldn't.

"con artist"? Poncho has been the telling it like it really is during the entire time he has been a poster in this forum. We should all pay heed to him. I know I wish I had done more so earlier. If Americans had paid attention to folks like poncho we wouldn't be in the awful mess that people like George W. Bush and Barack Obama have placed us in.

That is a fact. There are three basic types of mindsets on this board which come through quite clearly. First, there is your typical ultra liberal Democrat mindset, the bleeding heart that has no sense of self responsibility or individual achievement. Then, there is the liberal Republican mindest, that pretends they are conservative and are seperate and apart from the first catagory. Finally, there is the only mindset that will salvage what is left of this nation, the conservative, Constitutional method of governing this country. This person believes the federal govenment's basic job is the security of this nation, and the guardians of our freedom and liberty. Any other government function is addressed at the state or local level. This person believes that our leaders should serve the American people and not rob them. At the core of their beliefs is low taxes, a balanced budget, and limited government.

Catagories one and two have forsaken the most basic of principles by betraying the security of this nation by allowing open and uncontrolled borders. That alone disqualifies them from any support from the American people.

For the posters that say we harp on the same message over and over, so be it. Until we get rid of the Republican apologists and the Democrat socialists, which you can put in a bag and pull out the same result on any given day, then the message will continue. If you support the policies of either party, you might as well have voted for Obama, especially since your support of the last group of Republican slobs to govern was the immediate cause of the election of Barack Obama. You ought to hang your head in shame.

Yes, but some of us are able to hold those beliefs without coming across as completly obsessed wack-jobs.

    And some are not.

I am very sorry to hear about your condition. I never knew you had a problem until you told us about how fair and balanced the IRS is.
