I listended to the first three minutes and they didn't mention Harry Reid.

How far into the video do we have to listen before we know "why Harry Reid said what he said."?

I have not made a judgement on Reid, other than to say he could have chosen his words more carefully. Also I was not defending or attacking him with the post. I simply thought it should be heard from the two authors of the book.

However, the media, the Democrats and the Republicians have, as far as I have seen or read, never put the quote in context. The authors do so. Context changes intent and meaning.

For instance the statement, "The man hit the woman with both hands." That statement standing alone with no context gives a very negative impression. However a different impression is given if the context is he hit the woman with both hands and, thus saved her from being killed by an oncoming car.

This is why it is very important to give quotes from scripture in context. You can prove anything if you take selective quotes out of context. The same is true with news events.

To me it moves the statement from a very negative racist remark ... which would be totally stupid to a statement giving one reason why he felt Obama could be elected. As I have said his choice of words were not well founded in our sensitive society. Any such comment, regardless of who it is will be attacked by the opposition party ... and not explained well by the media.
