Dem GOTV picking up Brown supporters

A Democratic operative familiar with Martha Coakley and the DSCC's massive get-out-the-vote operation says that outreach workers in and around Boston have been stunned by the number of Democrats and Obama supporters who are waving them off, saying they'll vote for Scott Brown.

If they manage to lose this one, I wonder if they will shift more back to center or are they so far out of touch they won't get the message?

I think the problem with the Democrats is that the economy is bad and they're being too wishy-washy and moderate and not making very much real progress on the Democratic agenda. I don't see the Republicans winning back the Congress until at least 2014, although they will almost certainly pick up a few seats before then. The GOP is just too far right wing and out of touch with clear thinking Americans. I don't, however, see them as a permanent minority party as some said they might have become.

    Give an example.

Or show us how the Democratic leadership is somehow "in touch with clear-thinking Americans."

I guess if "clear thinking" refers to "abandoning individual liberties," then you're probably right.

More liberal arrogance. Only the minority are the clear thinkers I suppose since this health care bill is unpopular

    They are too far out.....

But that doesn't mean that conservative Republicans can blitz the votes either.... if they promote to the forefront such liberal candidates as the woman running in Ca for governor. She's never voted until recently, and is on the Republican ticket... highly funded and promoted..... but she was a big donor for Barbara Boxer... which should give an idea of just what kind of choice she is for the Republican Party if she's chosen..... and, I can't even think of her name.

otoh.....The Constitution Party is offerring the people of Ca a real choice, Nightingale.

    bolded mine

This attitude is the modern equivalent of Nero and his fiddlin' solo!

If they stay in power, there will not be a '12 election - martial law will have been declared for some reason or other - assuming we make it that far before becoming a bona-fide "banana republic"!!

The bolded portion of the quote seem to be in contrast with what we're seeing in Mass today!

Win or lose, this election has put a black eye on the liberal establishment that claims to be so representative of "the people".

The Ds have lost simply by the response of the state, regardless of the outcome, just as conservatism has won, regardless of the outcome.

This bastion of liberality (Mass) has had it's gates fractured sumpin' serious, and if the quoted attitude prevails in the nanny gov't section, these same gates will be demolished come Nov this year.

Whodda thunk that a R would ever get over 30% in Mass????????????

    WOW!!!!

We have seen a miracle already, and just hope for it to be extended!!!

Republicans wont stand a chance if they don't make a difference in office by showing true conservatism and rolling back the expenditures and reducing the size of government and the influence of the federal over the states and the people. They may win a few elections and regain a temporary position.... but, unless they return to the values most people used to have of conservative republicanism... so little will change that the people will loose interest.

If the Republicans cant put up constitutionalist and conservative challengers.... it will not be giving the people the choice they want and need. Let's restore America!

I'm a progressive so I'm like Nero? Are you kidding me? That's like calling a Jewish person Hitler. Nero was the world's greatest persecutor of Christians, and I'm that because I disagree with you on a political issue? I try to get along with people on this board, and there are a lot of nice people, but some of you are just too hateful.

Young man you have once again twisted someone's words. You need to get it together. He bolded the absurd statement you made for emphases and you just ignored it to make your hateful statement. He said nothing about being progressive. If you are going to whine, whine about what he actually said.

I don't hate anyone on here. I did over-react to that last statement; I apologize.
