David Ring

David Ring was born with Cerebral Palsy which now makes his speech difficult.

For Several years, Ring has been a Christian evangelist and motivational speaker. Jerry Falwell featured Ring often on the "Old Time Gospel Hour"

Since Ring has a severe speech impediment, he often can be hard to understand. For me, it is awkward to listen. ( I also have a very slight hearing problem)

Am I the only one who thinks this way? Would you invite David Ring to your church?

I would LOVE to have David Ring come speak at our church. I watched him on video once or twice and his message touched me deeply.

His speech problem means you really have to listen closely, but I find it no different than our foreign missionaries who speak with strong accents.

We had David Ring at our church years ago for several services and he was difficult at first, but the more you listen, the more easily understandable his speech. I thought he was awesome and as media center director, I bought up all the resources he had at the time.

Probably not, but not because of his speech impediment. Everytime I've ever heard him, he tends to be more of a motivational speaker than a preacher.

I have heard him speak in my youth and appreciated what he had to say. I haven't heard him speak since I was younger. It has been a few.

I really like David Ring. Yes, he is difficult to understand for the first few minutes. I watched him give a sermon on television about the superficiality of humans and how God looks on the heart. It was wonderful.

To me, it is no different than the wonderful man we had at our church who was from Indonesia who was VERY difficult to understand. But God used his message and I was blessed.

My father is almost completely deaf. And believe me, I understand that the hearing impaired would have difficulty in understanding anyone who does not speak distinctly.

About 15 years ago, my husband and I ordered a video containing several messages of David Ring.... I think they were offered by Jerry Falwell's ministries.

It's true that he is difficult but not impossible to understand, and the more you listen, and its hard to keep from listening, the clearer he becomes as one's ear becomes atuned.

Yes, he is motivational, but he is also an inspiration regarding what God can do in the life of a person who has been given so many reasons not to want to live, or to feel like a failure, or to wonder how God could love them or use them.... and, yes, he does bring the gospel message.

Aside from the difficulty of understanding what he says, I know of no reason not to reccommend him highly. That difficulty would easily be overcome by those who return to hear him in a series... such as a partial week or week long revival. If he would allow video recordings to be made to be distributed later to those who wanted them or those who had difficulty with their hearing... and could later relisten in a control environment... such as the home, with a relative or friend to interpret the more indistinguishable parts, then this might be a way of filling that gap...... and even expanding an outreach.

One thing I do recall, after hearing David Ring: God is so good and can lift us up out of anything.... if we only let Him: It is hard to listen to David Ring and return home to sink into one's own pity-party. I gave the video away (hoping it would be returned), to a friend who had a grandchild born in Texas with CP and many physical anomalies. (Her son had been a soldier in the first Gulf War ....and this was their first child afterward.)

Yes, he is great. I was on a cruse years ago and Charles Stanley, Adrian Rogers and Jerry Vines were preaching a long with a few others, David Ring was there and he is a good preacher of the Word.

I have had David Ring to speak in my church on two different occasions. I highly recommend him. He is a most humble and gracious man. Praise God for using David to bring many people to Christ.
