Cell phones just make inattentive and careless drivers MORE inattentive and careless, IMUHO. (In My Uninformed Humble Opinion)
people can talk on the phone or to the person sitting next to them so are we going to outlaw passengers as well?
Cellphones and driving are not a good mix. I had a bad experience a few years ago that cured me from "texting and driving" and "dialing and driving".
Texting is most definitely dangerous, much more dangerous than just talking on the phone itself.
Car and Driver did a report not long ago. They compared driunken driving and driving while texting using the same people. When the people were drunk they were actually better drivers than when texting!
I suppose cell phoning is like drunk driving. At 2 AM half the cars on the road are driven by legally drunk drivers but they are professional drunks and drive very carefully. The roads are dangerous at holidays and weekends when the amateur drunks get in their cars.
